Advice needed (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by juneefa
I’ve been working for 3 months now, and i have to say I love it. I still have to work on my speed at bar, but I know that comes with time and to be honest I don’t get placed at bar often enough to practice a rhythm. Anyway, there’s a coworker who is 2 weeks senior to me, and they micromanage my every move! I’ve tried very hard to relate to this person, but I can’t get passed their behavior! I’ll be in the middle of talking to customer- mid order on dto and this person will hop on to tell the customer something that I’ve possibly missed. Or when I am finally on bar, they’re constantly “advising” me on what I’m doing wrong, once they even pulled an unfinished drink from my hand and said “I got it”. I’m up to here with the micro aggression, and the worst part is this person uses a fake “sweet” voice- aggravating AF.
*sigh* maybe I just needed to vent here, but I’m also on the fence of bringing it up to someone, or maybe approaching the person? Idk. Any advice?

Tell your SSVs on shift about it. How are you suppose to get better if you don't make mistakes?
Green beans I usually put on bar with a stronger partner so they can ask questions, make mistakes and learn. Speak up, challenge the status quo

Just so you know for that partner I would just be like "hey I appreciate the help advise but moving forward I would appreciate if you let me come to you for advise instead, thanks."
