Rant: Transitioned into team lead role. (self.starbucksbaristas)

And only got a forty cent raise. 🥲 With a lot more added responsibility. When the previous team lead got an additional $2 raise, and did a fraction of what I am expected to do with less experience than me.

Why did you accept that?

I wasn't told what my pay was prior to transitioning into the role. I was awaiting approval from head office who was supposed to tell me my new pay. When I asked management about my new pay, they told me they weren't sure and would have to wait to see on my next paycheck the difference.

Are you corporate or licensed?
Not_Another_Karen [OP] 3 points 10m ago
Licensed, unfortunately.
I started out at a dollar more than the other baristas due to my previous experiences as a barista, team lead and asm.

Oh this is all making more sense now, are you in a grocery store or airport?

I’m sorry for your experience, that’s definitely shady!

Maybe you can transition to a corporate store. They might start you at a higher rate since you have prior experience.

I would recommend applying to other management positions, shift manager from Starbucks looks fantastic on your resume.
