if only the app could automatically determine when there are too many orders going to a certain store that is understaffed

They have the technology. When I worked at Ulta there was a pick up order cap at 100 an hour. Starbucks could easily do that

they need too it’s just too much sometimes especially during fall/winter launches

Also since we already have a tablet that tracks how long it takes for customers to get their orders it would be really great if that technology was used to give mobile users accurate wait times !!!! *Pulls out chunks of hair*

fat mood! i opened today and peak was AWFUL mobile order wise. Then, my coworker was closing and snapped me saying that after school peak was so bad bc they were so understaffed that people started walking out. =\

Okay but think of how many people wouldn’t notice it went to a different store, people already can’t tell the difference between stores that are within miles of each other

They can. They’d rather get people’s money, their expectation to get their drink, and leave us on the front lines for their satisfaction tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️

Like even best case scenario (no bean refills, no empty ground drawer, etc.) espresso shots are a timed thing! Starbucks knows when mobile customers will be waiting on their drinks for 30+ minutes. They just don’t give a shit.

I understand it for understaffing reasons, but they expect the stores to be staffed enough to handle what that store does in sales. And yea espresso shots are a timed thing but if people are trained correctly and staff isn’t an issue nobody should be waiting 30+ mins or even 15+

Unless the order before them has 20+ espresso drinks, or someone orders 12 fraps right before them, or…

Even with a full staff, sometimes the volume of drinks is just too much. A single bar/barista can only pull shots so fast (most people get 4+ shots per drink at my store). And frapps are the same - only 2 blenders. So if 30 people submitted orders before you, yes, there will probably be about a 30 minute wait. My store pretty much constantly has 20-30 drinks in the queue during peak. It has nothing to do with how well trained the baristas are. We’ll have our 5 fastest bar partners making drinks at once (3 cold bar, 1 cafe/mobile, 1 drive thru) and we’ll still be behind on a busy day.

Sometimes sure but my store has peaks where every half is over 65 customers and we have 3 people on bar 7 people total and nobody is ever waiting that long and drive times are under 40 but maybe your store is a lot busier

We were about 45 minutes behind on mobiles today LOL

God ikr, we were running a 4 person floor during peak and it was chaos. Insane amount of deliveries too. People coming up every five seconds after they just placed their orders asking how long it’ll take. Ugh.
