the store im working at saturday has a 10-3 and then a 3-10 available and genuinely i want BOTH but idk if i can? that’s 12 hours.

I believe you’re able to. Someone worked 14 hours at my store. I would accept both and ask your manager. I’m pretty sure you get two lunches

It depends on 1.5 things. The first thing is if you're state claims anything over 8 hours to be overtime (some states say over 40 in a week is overtime, others say anything over 8 in one day is overtime). The second thing (which is dependant on the first, hence the ".5") is whether your SM is okay with overtime. Most of the time, overtime needs to be approved by the DM, with your SM as a middle man. So I'd talk to you SM

It depends on your state and age. I do it all the time in PA. Ask your SM when in doubt. They’ll know and won’t mind the question!

Can definitely work over 8 then. VA has basically no labor laws.

yes. i do 12+ hrs shifts often as just a barista. just be mindful for your OT and clear it with at least a SSV.

Yes and you’ll actually get a second lunch too (after 10 hours) I’ve worked a open to close once it’s totally fine
