I wonder if he has ever made a caramel ribbon crunch frappucino
megs1288315 points10m ago
He should get the barista training
bitchmcconnelll9 points10m ago
He will get barista training! Knock on wood it’s not your store.
megs128812 points10m ago
Yeah he would love to see the rats and fly population that exists and Starbucks won’t do anything about
int3rwebuser5 points10m ago
The itty bitty bitty cockroaches that infest the machines at my old mall store... while we still served coffee for months while poisoning them with a deformation spray that would make them grow for wings and three legs two heads, etc. until they could no longer procreate! He’s definitely love to see that mess.
Spinelise [OP]242 points10m ago
He's made them with us in spirit- it's the thought that counts cuz we're all partners! 🥰 /s
fredforthered72 points10m ago
He feels the mocha on your shoes, the milk on your apron, the spirit in your nostrils 🥺
olivinemultichrome45 points10m ago
The *splenda in your nostrils
StuffiesAndBeatSaber29 points10m ago
And the matcha in your eyes
Vegan_Sweetie235 points10m ago
I wonder if he’s ever made 10 Caramel Ribbon Cruch’s (each one with modifications) while ALSO making Latte’s, Teas, Coldbrews and waters, while talking to the customers at the Mobile Center while keeping his face friendly, welcoming all people in, and keeping the Drive time under 35.
If he does ALL that for 6 months without special treatment, then I’ll consider respecting him.
Forsaken_Highlight_720 points10m ago
While only scheduled 3-4 partners for a Friday peak too haha
Vegan_Sweetie2 points10m ago
Lol… our store never does that because we have high volume of sales. We never have less than 7. Even so, we’re literally running all morning, since we do between 50-80 during peak. 😬
Emilleberry821 points10m ago
The ultimate test
PetMySquid352 points10m ago
He looks like he goes home every night after work to research if any Starbucks employees has an onlyfans so he can get them to send him feet pics
Praxlyn114 points10m ago
this is oddly specific wanna tell us who in ur local corporate hierarchy did this?? 😭😭
Spinelise [OP]66 points10m ago
NOT THE FEET PICS 😭
Honey_Ginger32 points10m ago
Id be okay with him paying for my onlyfans, I'd make him ✨ grovel ✨
Blue-Sky132514 points10m ago
I can’t un-see this scenario now
eckinz11 points10m ago
Omg hahahahaha
florencelovelace228 points10m ago

diarrheajar125 points10m ago
This is how I found out too🤣
changbinsomnia59 points10m ago
literally what im thinking lmao when did howard step down? 💀
godmasterchampion64 points10m ago
When Howard took over for Kevin I believe it was intended to be only in an interim role so he wasn’t expected to be there long. Had no idea they had transitioned until this post though.
jayessdubs20 points10m ago
Howie hasn't yet - this guy starts at SB in October, and him being CEO starts in April. It was announced today
Haydunk128 points10m ago
He better be lax, man.
Spinelise [OP]39 points10m ago
Okay everyone else can go home this is the best comment
Biz-muth8 points10m ago
Baristas work from home and get paid lol
Eastern_Effective_490 points10m ago
I honestly wish baristas could work from home :( but like how would that work lol
megs1288123 points10m ago
In my Michael Scott voice..”you’re not from paper? Does David Wallace know that?”
ebac72 points10m ago
"You know what would happen if you put paper in a furnace?! Youd ruin it!"
Jesslynnlove73 points10m ago
Time will tell i guess, wikipedia and search results on this guy seem to be pretty plain and good. Not just some business exec, he has a masters in mechanical engineering and is fluent in 6 languages, working at multiple places over the world. Honestly anything is better than Kevin Johnson, fuck that dude.
tatu-lasair16 points10m ago
None of that makes him qualified to work here tho js
tatu-lasair8 points10m ago
Like, He's not getting a pat on the back because his parents had money enough to educate him.
Jesslynnlove4 points10m ago
I do not know about his parents so i cant say. Do you?
TwoDallas2 points10m ago
he was born and raised in India.
Thecardinal742 points10m ago
He’s lived in the US since 1993 until he took the helm at Reckitt and moved to the Uk. He’s been a fantastic CEO at Reckitt, but his daughter is going to have a baby soon and he and his wafe wanted to be back in the US to be closer to his kids and future grandchild. Plus Reckitt is a massive global enterprise that had him traveling too much (present in 200 companies vs Starbucks’ 80) so he wanted to be home more.
Can’t fault him for that.
Thecardinal741 points10m ago
His mother made many appearances in his town halls. Sweet old lady.
wok3less5 points10m ago
based on the article starbucks put out he also has lots of experience in retail/retail management!! and he’ll be getting in store training
VenusInFirs72 points10m ago
Like absolutely nothing is going to change.
megs128849 points10m ago
Wait I though Howard came back?
clouds183101 points10m ago
it was only temporarily to stop the unions lol
Mushyroom42067 points10m ago
Apparently the new guy worked alongside unions in a previous job so hopefully he’ll be more supportive?? Idk tho bc Howard is still going to be working there as like an executive or something
L_Swizzlesticks26 points10m ago
They’ll probably move him on to the board of directors. He’ll be sitting in the shadows, watching, waiting…😈
godmasterchampion24 points10m ago
Howard will never take his eyes of Starbucks until the earth claims his bones. Probably not even then.
Now I’m imagining ghost Howard watching us forever….
Spinelise [OP]3 points10m ago
FEAR
sheep_heavenly5 points10m ago
Which one? His previous company was UK based from what I see, then PepsiCo before that which has teamsters for drivers.
Spinelise [OP]42 points10m ago
He did, but just to help Starbucks "bounce back" after covid lockdowns, he never planned on staying it looks like.
Spinelise [OP]35 points10m ago
Link to one of the articles, it was only just announced
oh shit my dad works for pepsico lemme ask if he knows anything abt him
Captain7empy13 points10m ago
Replying to see if you come back with an update
dirtychai021841 points10m ago

frappeyourmom22 points10m ago
Nah, Kylie Jenner will be handing out Pepsi to the unionizers now.
ScroogeMcDust3 points10m ago
That was Kendall right? Or are we making a sequel
frappeyourmom2 points10m ago
I don’t pay super close attention to that shitshow so I’m not actually sure. I’m not even sure if I got the last name right lmao
Delicious-Image-98823 points10m ago
“the coffee giant” i can’t 💀
Spinelise [OP]12 points10m ago
"the sugar milk giant" fixed it
3aTroop33 points10m ago
I was wondering if he was part of the marketing and strategy team when Starbucks partnered with Pepsi to sell Starbucks products like the double shot and bottled Frappuccino.
olivinemultichrome10 points10m ago
This makes sense and makes it feel less random
lewabwee30 points10m ago
He looks like the kind of douchebag who would pretend to seriously enjoy practically standing on an airplane seat in order to sell the idea to the general public.
jwoo3x29 points10m ago
Looks like a tea drinker
BoatAccomplished822926 points10m ago
oh great another pinkerton
Spinelise [OP]8 points10m ago

Spinelise [OP]12 points10m ago
OOP okay yeah then u right. Thanks for giving me a new word that fits exactly what I want to say!
chateauduchat2 points10m ago
Yooo really? I’m trying to find a source for that but I can’t find anything if he’s a Pinkerton.
BoatAccomplished82291 points10m ago
it was just a joke
komjaee16 points10m ago

jupiter_bug5 points10m ago

komjaee16 points10m ago

Bad news y’all…. He used to work for McKinsey
BrotatoChip049 points10m ago
Unless he makes some radical changes that are detrimental to top-level corporate and super beneficial to us, I’m not gonna like him.
Necessary_Low9399 points10m ago
Really? What’s the tea now?
no-theotherguy9 points10m ago
He looks exactly like a ceo
booboobradley8 points10m ago
Looks like he is farting

AzureBaron5 points10m ago
Hailed as being a great leader through the pandemic... He was the CEO for a multi-national company that specializes in selling hygiene/health products. The pandemic played a large part in the company's success during his tenure.
He has experience with Unions but does he approve or oppose?
If we are basing his ability to lead consumer facing brands on his tenure with a large brand that has had a majority of upwards development since '85 (Pepsi), it might be a bit skewed.
Has 30 years of experience between only 3 companies. 2/3 of which being at McKinsey, and the other 1/3 divided between Pepsi and Reckitt Benckiser
Yes, let's note that he began his career at McKinsey. I management consulting company based in Delhi, India. One of the biggest consulting firms in the world. Has led to some of the largest examples of corporate reform ever.
What is failed to mention here is that it also cut jobs and was involved in the '08 market crash. And while it has, for lack of a better term, 'innovated' corporate reform, was also part of some of the largest scandals ever.
Paid almost $10 million up front to acquire him in addition to a $1.3m salary. He is being brought in with no knowledge of the company and their values. They are taking 7 months to teach him about the company. This says a lot about the management hiring system. Outside hires with no experience instead of developing partners with ambition to learn more about and develop the company that rose them to this position.
It's interesting that he, a man with corporate reform knowledge, is being brought on at the same time that Starbucks is completely going against their third place ideals by focusing on mobile ordering and a fast drive through experience. People are no longer encouraged to sit down and have a coffee like a normal coffee house. Being from a college town, this drives an entire demographic away. Students would rather pick up their coffee and go back to their dorm/apartment because it's not a relaxing experience to be in the stores.
\*Disclaimer\*
I have not been and am still not pro Starbucks Union but based on this decision and some of the experiences that partner's have had in the last year, I can see why people would be. I don't think that the Union is needed because I feel that a large majority of the problems come from poor store management. However, I don't think that this is a good CEO choice. This says so much to me about how Starbucks chooses to run their company.
Also, Starbucks has one of the best benefit packages for a entry level job. We get a good base rate in relation to many entry level jobs. No, it's not a living wage, which is a point that I can agree on for what Union supporters want, but until it's Federal law I don't think anything will be done about it.
And in my store, we don't have the problems that a lot of these stores say that they do. Perhaps my store is just lucky. But we've also been lucky to have an incredible manager who is unfortunately departing the company after 15 years of employment, half of which being managerial. He has run all three stores in the area, both separately and jointly while other stores were between managers. He puts in 50+ hour weeks to make sure our store is running smoothly and has been asked why he does so as he is only supposed to work 40 (He does stuff like that because he cares.). He understand that people have lives outside of work. I have requested a lot of time off over my tenure with Starbucks and have only been denied one time, and was only because he could not do it. However, he managed to find a way to do it post schedule release. After all the things he has done for the company and for the Partners, when he spoke of his resignation, he was told "I look forward to seeing it."
I am extremely angry about his departure, however I'm also happy for him that he is getting away from this toxicity. He has been the best manager I've ever experienced. He treated us like people, and many times like friends. I truly loved having him. \*End Simp\*
wok3less4 points10m ago
i agree w all of this! i get a lot of slack for not being pro-union myself, but can also understand why others are and acknowledge that i may be on the better end of things. i dont think we can truly judge this guy for a good few years
AzureBaron4 points10m ago
I agree. It's going to be really hard to judge until we see what he does. However, I don't think his experience bodes well for the company. High hopes though.
wok3less1 points10m ago
exactly. honestly, what can we do except have high hopes? might as well hope for the best before assuming the worst
champshere5 points10m ago
WHO?!
Sholeran4 points10m ago
Idk what it is but he looks AI generated, it's the smile man it looks so uncanny
politelymalicious4 points10m ago
CNBC says he does step in until April, oof. I just want Howie gone please
TheRosyEgoist4 points10m ago
Looks like a shithead businessman.
Thecardinal743 points10m ago
I work for the company he is leaving.
I am very saddened to hear that he is going. He has made huge changes in the culture at RB:
- introduced Employee Resource Groups to help disadvantaged employees get equal footing in the company and help establish their careers
- mandated diversity in the company leadership roles, getting rid of the old white mens club and having multiple ethnicities of both genders.
- has regular town halls with the employee base, communicating what he is doing why he is doing it, answering questions. He’s even had me invite viewers from webcasts to join him live to talk to him.
- regarding mane suites trying to unionize, if he comes in and welcomes them I would not be surprised, he has been very employee focused on the three years that he was with us.
- he takes the time to learn. He’s not going to walk in and try making changes based on dollars and cents. He’s come and worked the line making Lysol wipes during a pandemic. He come to the factories to cheer on the employees making Enfamil when Abbot had their recall and we tried to fill the sudden void in the market.
There’s people who say he’s made some bad decisions that were covered up by Lysol, Mucinex, and Enfamil going gangbusters the last three years. I can’t speak for that.
I can speak for the culture that he instilled in a short amount of time to make everybody feel like they are important, like they are working towards something, and that they know what that something is.
Plus he’s funny as hell and you’ll love his mom, who’s made many appearances on his town halls when he worked from home during the pandemic.
I’m a nobody in this company, but each time he came to the states he still made sure to say hi to me because of the work I’ve done on his broadcasts.
He’s a legit human being first, and treats others that way.
I think you’ll like him.
I know we’ll miss him
Spinelise [OP]1 points10m ago
This makes me TOO hopeful now 😭 he soundin' like a saint already compared to Schultz

Wow awesome!
JoeSwansong2 points10m ago
He won’t be able to fix the issues at Starbucks or make the company better for employees. He spent the first 20 years of his career at McKinsey and Company; McKinsey is one of the main causes of the middle class being destroyed in America.
He may be better than Kevin Johnson but he will still be awful just wait and see. Starbucks will continue its trend of cost-cutting and shareholder value maximizing to the detriment of everyone else but mostly partners (customers matter but we don’t).

Just hope he is for the partners, and not just business.
Talex19951 points10m ago
Former Partner, but I’m curious as to how he went to school for engineering and ended up being CCO of PepsiCo and now this. Good luck y’all
webo2121 points10m ago
Oh lord, we went from becoming McDonald’s under Mr. Kevin, to some random ass guy from PepsiCO? WHAT HAPPENED TO HIRING FROM WITHIN!? PEOPLE WHO KNOW STARBUCKS!? LIKE PEOPLE WHOVE BEEN ON THE DAMN FLOOR!!??
Partners my ass ….. *hard eye roll and side eye at Howard* …. It’s giving Howie just wants to retire smh

Well he ticks the diversity box, which the company will surely use as a talking point every chance it gets. Some people will never be satisfied because he’s not a she, but you can’t please everyone.
