You’ll be asked to talk about coaching, a time you “challenged the status quo” (I still don’t know wtf that actually means because no higher up really wants the status quo changed or challenged), why you think you would be good at the job, how you would deal with a challenging situation with your baristas (talking back, late, out of dress code, not upholding the standards), how you would deal with a challenging situation with your customers. And honestly that all I remember from mine.
I’m going to mark this as a spoiler so you can ignore if you choose. This is going to sound dark, and I don’t mean to scare but to prepare you. Here’s my advice: >!be sure this is what you actually want. Look at your shifts, watch what they go through, and multiply the stress by at least 2. I had no idea this job was as hard as it is. There are days that I absolutely love it, and there are days where I want to quit my job 10 minutes into a shift. Before I promoted, I was sure that I would work my way up to SM, and now I am happy that I still have a job at the end of this month. !<
This job can be a lot of fun and really great, but it’s a lot mentally and physically. I will also say that my situation has been extra crap because I’ve had 7 managers in the last year and that makes everything so much harder because without the consistency so much more has fallen on me to maintain so my perspective probably needs to be taken with a heavy pinch of salt.
