Brand new partner! Anything I should be extra cautious/aware of?(self.starbucksbaristas)

Just got hired at my local Starbucks and I’ve only started drinking coffee occasionally within the last year or so, so I’m not super familiar with all the kinds and whatnot. Any advice for leaning to make drinks/anything in general to do or not do?

The dress code is updating soon, and I think piercings are on the list of improvements, but don't quote me. Don't worry about knowing about coffee really. You're main focus is going to just be learning recipes and how to make certain drinks. Don't panic if it seems like a lot, it's going to seem very overwhelming. It takes about a month in my experience, before you're more comfortable with everything to where you can kind of just do your own thing without too much help. I'd be most cautious of your coworkers. I love my store and my coworkers, but there are always those people that are just going to backstab and shit talk. Do your thing, find your group, and try to have some fun!

My advice is to just hang in there. There’s a lot of stuff to learn and it’s probably going to be overwhelming at first. The training will help you get familiar with the drinks but it still takes a while to get comfortable.

Add on: I have two nostril piercings and a septum. Are yalls stores strict about the one piercing thing? When I did my interview the manager didn’t say anything ab it but I’m not sure.

Once you learn how many syrup pumps and espresso shots go into each size, and for which specific instances that exceptions to that rule occurs, you'll have successfully learned 90% of the menu. This includes the holiday drinks and new drinks that haven't been created or released yet.
