Spotify premium - can I make it a duo but only pay difference? (self.starbucksbaristas)

The title says most of it but here’s the question. I use my Spotify premium account for myself but my partner has their own account. The Spotify duo was a great deal because it cut the cost per person a ton but now with my partner Spotify we are paying fully for his. Is there a way for me to like upgrade the plan and only pay the difference in price between what sbux already pays and the duo price?

Unfortunately, no. If you try to switch to a duo subscription, you hit a screen that says you’re not eligible for that offer without unsubscribing and losing the free subscription.

i mean if you’re getting it free and your partner has to pay, it essentially evens out, no? duo was around $13 the last time i switched plans
