Cleaning Sticker Machine?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by imvni5
Does anybody know how to clean or fix the sticker machine when it barely prints the text on stickers. Our has been acting funky for a while but recently it’s gotten so bad that B2 has to rely on the DPM to see the customizations on the tickets.
Also we’ve tried creating tickets for them but they always come and tell us they’re fine 🙄

Any help would be appreciated!

order a labeller cleaning kit. in lieu of that, take an alcohol wipe and gently clean the inside of the machine, allow to dry.

I used a rag with a little bit of the sanitizer but I’ll try alcohol tomorrow. Thank you!

The part that particularly will help with visibility printing is the thermal screen. When you take out the stickers, on the “ceiling” of the machine where the sticker meets the printer, there’s a black screen running across the length of the top (there’s a little sticker that says “hot” or something like that). Wipe that very well and make sure it’s dry. That will help with printing clearly :) it that doesn’t work than it’s just a faulty printer.

Where are you based? In the UK right now there is a problem with the sticker rolls, not the printers. They create a build up of glue on the laser printer strip which prevents it from printing the text. No point creating a call out atm for that. We had our printers for ages then all of a sudden they had this problem and we were told by an engineer about the sticker roll thing. No point ordering new printers just for it happen to them. We have deep cleaned them and they work OK for a few days but the problem comes back.

Open the wee door and at the top there should be a thin sort of gloss black strip at the front (it can be hard to see) and it might be covered in white waxy glue stuff. If you don't have a cleaning kit just use your pointer and give it some finger action

I’m in the US. I did notice there was a whole bunch of white stuff when I opened up the printer. Thank you!
