how/when did you know you got the job? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by opheliasriver
For context, i applied to Starbucks about a month ago, and secured an interview a week later. I think it went decent, not great because i was a little stiff with my answers, (the tism) but i told them the truth sprinkled with what they wanted to hear. About 10 days later, i still hadnt heard a reply, so i sent the manager who interviewed me a quick text, saying that i loved the environment they had created, and feel it would be a great place to work, and to please get back to me (summarized). they didnt respond to that text, either. Its fine, but, im not the best at reading tones, so im unsure of where to go from here.

Is it safe to assume i didnt get the job? How did you know you got the job as a barista/how long did it take for them to get back to you? thanks!

My manager offered it to me during my interview, I think it just depends on the manager tbh. My manager is fucking elite fr

I got an email several days later plus a call from the SM to officially offer it to me as well. Call the store rather than text imo.

I would call the store or go in during hours you can speak to the hiring manager and just ask. Where I'm from, if the person is great but not a fit for the store or they've got too many applicants already, some managers will pass on your resume to another store if they know that manager needs people. I would go in and ask and if it's a no go, just ask to keep your resume on file for the next hiring round. If you're in a city, just reapply to another store. Ain't no shame. Best of luck! 😊

I was offered the job after the interview and sent the offer of employment at the same time basically. I’ve heard that other stores in my district are different. It always depends on the hiring manager or manager if that’s all they have.

Honestly if the manager likes you based on the interview, you'll get hte job

Also try not to quit, I almost quit in my first 2 months (it's a hard job) but now I'm super happy here because my coworkers are fun to work with

I was contacted one week after my interview, at that point I was thinking I must not have gotten the job, but I did. Since starting I've seen several people come in to ask the manager about interviews, and I do think that seems like the best way to get a clear answer.

I was hired within a week since my interview.

I was told during the interview. Then got a call to confirm it the next day. I’d call the store or even email the manager. My main communication with her was through email.

I was offered the job at my interview. It’d be best to call store and see what’s up imo

Also autistic and I’ve applied to two different stores in my city, been a week or two and haven’t heard back on the application or for scheduling an interview. How am I supposed to give my stiff little interview or help them meet their 7% disability quota if I don’t hear back from them? /s

Thought it was funny that in the application portal gave me the option to select “notify me when my application is denied” (when? not if?)

Anyways, best of luck with your application process and hopefully we can be fellow partners one day (:

a tip, what i did, is - i applied online , and then went to the store in person and told them i applied, and gave my contact info!! set up an interview after that, and they said that they only do it for people who come in person to talk. shows ‘initiative’.

and right lol? they gotta meet the quota. /lh
