Yes! The same also applies for when you’re understaffed or when someone calls out or is a no-show. You’re not getting paid to do your job PLUS theirs!

Some are better than others. But they’re probably getting yelled at by their manager who is getting yelled at by their district manager who is getting yelled at by their area manager who is getting yelled at by someone else somewhere who works from home and gets paid 6 figures.

people working in the US today get paid their regular wage plus 50% because it’s a holiday. Some managers will try to pressure people into working harder to “earn” the extra pay, but we have already earned it by coming to work on a holiday.

I have partners working twice as fast as they normally do because it’s time and a half pay for Labor Day. Work your normal speed. If it’s busy the company can add partners to work.

Even if it’s busy you don’t really need to work double speed. You’re expected to come in and do your job at a reasonable speed- that’s the expectation. Not your fault your store is busy. Just my outlook on it

We're always pushed to GO FASTER GO FASTER GO FASTER GO FASTER every other day anyway.
My argument is the same today as it is every day. I'm already working as fast as I possibly can. When someone is standing over my shoulder telling me "SPEED UP WE NEED TO GET OUR TIME DOWN", I start to make mistakes because not only does the pressure stress me out and make it harder to pay attention to what I'm doing, but forcing my body to flail around more quickly than I'm comfortable doing means that I'm going to make mistakes and messes.
In a nutshell, I'd rather take the extra ten seconds to make the drink right the first time than take another sixty to redo it.

I get the not going faster just cause it’s time and a half but when we’re supposed to have our drive times no longer than a minute and we’re SLAMMED cause it’s a holiday, you bet I’m busting my ass (esp since we’re constantly short staffed) to try and keep our DM off our ass😭
