they look so good!! our store doesn’t write anything on ours 😭 i asked my manager about it recently and she said we could but nobody is willing. i’d do it but i’m not very artistic at all and i don’t think it would look nearly as nice as this! seriously good job!

Try it anyway. Other people at your store will likely be fascinated/inspired by your efforts and pitch in. The signs at my old store were kind of random because a few people would work on parts of the sign based on their abilities, but we had fun with those chalk markers.

YES! I'm not the most artistically inclined but I decided "heck it" and just went with it, seeing where we got. I figured out what I could and couldn't do as well as I would have preferred, and sourced members of the team to contribute. I didn't do it all, and it wouldn't have been as good as we got if I did it. But after everyone pitched in, it was a great sign and it turned into a really great piece that not only brought a personal touch from the whole team but really complemented the store as well

Just start basic then develop from there! Figure out what you want to put on it; how you want to phrase it, any graphics etc. once you know what you wanna put, start with easy lettering to get the basis down. Once the lettering is in place, try adding some graphics where you see fit. Keep adding to the font and add to the graphics and see where you go :)

The biggest thing for me is the remnants of previous wording, getting in the way of the presentation. The last sign I worked on had THE MOST stubborn lettering remains and it literally took 3 days of multiple people trying countless things to finally get them gone 😭
