Hi everyone! I guess this is a question for my fellow Canadian baristas as im not sure if things differ in other countries. It was always my understanding that you could take as much time off as you want (within reason) as long as your manager approves it for coverage and its not more than 2 weeks at a time, and that if you wanted to use vacation hours you could and if you don’t want to you don’t have to. However, at my current location I’ve had 2 baristas come up to me separately and tell me that the manager said they can only take 2 weeks of vacation total for the year. I had never heard of that rule before as I’ve seen people take more than 2 weeks off total in a year especially since my previous location was in front of a University. I’m just a little concerned because I’m going to have to take about a week off every other month next year and I’m worried she’s gonna deny it. Is it true that we can only take 2 weeks off in the year? If so i might have to quit cause thats not gonna fly lol
