If my manager schedules me outside of my availability do I have to find my own coverage?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I am a SSV of about 2 months. Our current manager has asked me on many occasions to try to find coverage for other people even if their shifts didn’t align with mine at all. Recently one of our shift supervisors had to leave temporarily for medical reasons, and she’s been having to make a lot of updates to the schedule. I noticed today that she scheduled me to close on a day I cannot close. It’s been in my availability for almost a year and I’m concerned she’s going to make me try and find my own coverage for her mistake

i would talk to your SM. They technically aren’t allowed to schedule you out of your availability but with your closing shift being sick maybe she is bending the rules assuming you could close (which she shouldn’t do without at least asking you first). You shouldn’t need to find coverage once she knows you’re not available

Speak with her. I know I've been temporarily scheduled outside of my availability but it was always changed once final schedule was published. I'm nor sure how/why but just make sure that's not the final schedule and that you cannot cover it. I would also recommend not even offering to find coverage, it's her job to schedule you within availability

The shift is on Thursday, sadly this is the final schedule

i would first double check your availability through the app because i didn’t know that i had put an end date for my availability and it screwed me over for a day that i needed off, but if your availability is what you posted then definitely reach out to your sm. my sm at times did go out of my availability and i would message him about it, but it is technically their responsibility to find you coverage since they willingly scheduled you out of your availability because my sm told me that they would be notified when making the schedule that they are going out of your availability

ASM here. You are not supposed to be to scheduled outside your availability (unless you agreed to), so it’s her responsibility. Why doesn’t she close if she needs somebody to close?

I have honestly never seen her open or close this store. She’s only in like, 9am-1pm where she’s stays in the back and makes the sechedule or does computer work. She’s only temporary manager so I don’t think she cares all that much

She shouldn't be asking u to find coverage for anyone else's shift...then I relieved I've helped at 10 different stores in the last year and made good connections with partners and have SMs texting me asking me for help every now and then 😅
