So I got a job at a boba tea place about 25 min bus ride from my house. Pays 15 and hour with potential for a raise but likely has a cap on pay. Not as great benefits because it’s a small franchise. But it’s small “family business” kind of vibe. My first day would be tomorrow.

But I just got a call from an actual Starbucks, and now I have an interview with them tomorrow an hour before my first day at the other job. Starting out it also pays 15$ but they have better health benefits, better chance for promotion, and will refund part of my college degree if I decide to go to school now. Also close to home so I don’t have to worry about transportation. Downside is it’s much busier and hectic, no union yet, possibly an unstable schedule. But I am already familiar with how to do all the drinks and food. So training will be less stressful.

TLDR: I want to know your guys opinion. So far Starbucks is looking better than this boba place but, Idk if it worth it? Or am I missing something?

Do the interview at the Starbucks and work at the boba shop and if u get accepted weigh the pros and cons of both.

I opened and worked at a licensed store inside a Target. I transferred to a legitimate Starbucks after about a year. I'd recommend it, especially with what the company seems to be pushing for in the near future.

Everyone just got a nice raise August 1st, another raise coming end of 4th quarter in January. They are making special roasts where the sales go directly into Barista's paychecks. Paid sick leave and vacation, and the health benefits are the best ive had at any place of work. I have full vision, dental and health coverage for 32$ a month roughly. Plus - free drinks at your shift, and food markouts + 1lb coffee markout weekly. Some places seem extremely shit - just judging off of some stuff i've seen in this sub- but my experience has been pretty fucking awesome, although i've worked for some shitty places prior(winco, kroger, target, sprouts, costco) which make this place seem like heaven. The room for promotion is also pretty much always open.

I promoted to a Shift supervisor after my 6 month probation period. Honestly, its fast paced but, as long as you handle stress well and are able to have the mindset of "it will get done when it gets done" type beat, it goes super smooth.
