Green Bean looking for advice (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Suspicious-Carpet522
Hi! I just completed my training (which I was not expecting to take three weeks). I applied at the beginning of the summer so I would have some income, but I was not hired until the beginning of July, and was not put on the schedule until mid August. My sophomore yr at college just started, and I am already overwhelmed. I have mentioned quitting, but they want me to reconsider. I genuinely do not know if I would be able to handle the workload if I go down to 12 hrs/wk (I have already burned out before). I wish the company would allow more leniency with the required hours, because I would love to be able to come in and work during breaks in the school year, but I am unsure I will be able to.

My SM is unavailable to discuss with me, and flaked when I mentioned talking to him on my next shift. I enjoy the people I work with, but I dont know if it is worth it.

Any advice?

if you can’t even work 12 hours then a job like this isn’t gonna be good for you, get a work study job
