Welcome to the siren!!

Your first couple weeks or so will be on boarding and training! So you’ll be watching videos and learning the barista basics. Don’t feel discouraged! There’s a lot of information to take in, but don’t feel like you need to memorize it all in the first couple weeks! Writing things down on a notepad or taking pictures of the screen with your phone is a good idea so you have the information at your fingertips and can access it anytime!

Another important thing is that any questions you have are valid! Unfortunately lately I’ve noticed a trend where more experienced partners get annoyed when a green bean has a question while they’re busy or there’s a rush (hopefully this isn’t the case at your location!). Please don’t ever feel like you’re annoying someone or that you’re in the way. It’s better to ask questions and learn to do it the right way!

Sometimes customers can be especially rude to green beans if they’re a semi regular and expect you to already know their order. Please don’t take it personally! Theres a lot that goes into this job and to them it seems like it’s easy, just make sure to take your time and do the best you can!!

Don’t take the customer abuse personally

this is kinda random and a bit over the top for a minimum wage job BUT if you are worried about the recipes and memorizing them, use the app to quiz yourself. i would pick a random drink and size and then guess everything that goes into the drink and check if i was right. it was honestly kinda fun to me and helpful. if u have free time and ur worried about that then i would definitely recommend doing that!
