alright I want to see if there are any familiar feelings in here. does anyone else feel like managers should be able to unionize? i feel as though a lot of union sentiment is very anti manager when in reality they are almost as exploited as baristas. Sure they make a salary but it's nothing compared to the billions the company is making. managers should also be able to take back their explored labor from the company. the real enemies are high ranking corpos raking in millions per year off of our labor

They forsure should, sentiment feels that way though because managers post anti union agenda

SMs are kinda stuck in the middle. They can’t organize with staff but are in a similar shit situation. The choices management above them make directly you impacts their job, and they have little say on how the store is run.

excatly! and it feels like they are blamed if a store does unionize. feels like they're in a total lose lose and i'd prefer to fight for them not against them.

There is no need for the position of manager in its current form if a store is run right. Managers need to either have their duties greatly modified or it needs to be a rotating role, either way the baristas and store managers have too much difference in their relationship to corporate

as a unionized barista i agree! asms & sms are a lot closer to baristas than to corporate, and they get treated just as poorly as we do

They can unionize if they want, im staunchly against unionizing personally but if my store wanted to, we could in theory negotiate for some form of compensation in a management setting.

why are you staunchly against?

I don't know about other states, but at least in social SMs and ASMs cannot join the union, I'm a rather neutral on unions while this anti manager push continues so no judgement here.
