SM removed me from system without notifying me (self.starbucksbaristas)

i moved out of state for school and i tried to transfer last month but couldn’t find a store because they all filled up. i left my contact info with some stores in case a spot opened up, then one day my partner numbers stopped working. a SM recently contacted me because a spot opened up, and when i contacted my previous store manager and she said she removed me from the system and that i would have to reapply. i’m just upset because she never told me anything.

That’s messed up… I hate that there’s a waiting period now for transfers. When I first started I transferred around a bunch due to moving frequently and the longest I had to wait was 2 weeks.
She should have notified you before completely taking you out of the system. I hope you get the spot at the new store!!

I’m not sure if it’s different for every district/region but from what I know it’s 60 days. I guess because they need time to replace you, and also to possibly wait for a spot to open at the store someone is transferring to.
A lot of the partners at my store are feeling the pain from it because my SM “forgot” they were going back to school and would need to transfer, and just in general didn’t notify us that there is a waiting period

oh jeez it hasn’t even been 4 weeks since my last day at the old store. my previous sm always used to tell me that transferring a lot looks bad for me :/ but small update: i got the spot at the new store and the sm is super nice!

I understand how transferring a lot can look kinda weird, but I used to be part of the borrowed partner program so I’d be at a different store every week. I’m someone who moves a lot because of my boyfriend so usually I try to explain why when I bring up transferring. Usually the DM and SM are very understanding!
