hi y'all, i just wanted to see if anyone had any information on if you're deemed inadmissable by asu and if anyone knows what the pathway to admission is like? i am assuming i'll have to take classes and boost my gpa before i can be fully accepted or something; i have a meeting at the end of the month about it but i just wanted to see what i was getting myself into!

You literally just have to take a few classes to prove you can actually do it. I’m taking pathways right now, they offer limited classes but they all are pretty easy so far as long as you take the time to stay on top of them.

ok good to know! did you have to pay or is it still covered??

It’s still covered because if I remember correctly you can still gain and use the credits from the pathway classes you take towards your actual degree. I’m in pathways bc my classes at my old college were very intensive and hard to keep up with, so my grades suffered a lot. ASU has online school figured out, I thought with my ADHD it would be just as hard to keep up as with the classes at my old schools online classes, but in fact I’ve loved every moment of it, and am kicking myself for not signing up sooner.

i’m doing pathway rn! you don’t HAVE to do classes specific to your major but you can choose for these classes to count towards your degree so it might be worth it in the long run, it’s 24 credits if you’re under the age of 22 or 12 if you’re 22+ (something like that, it’s what my counselor told me but idk how that would make sense). the classes r pretty fast pace bc they go by quarter system instead of semesters, so each class is like 3 months long

I recommend the intro health class doing pathway to admission, it’s the easiest class and not overwhelming to take with another class simultaneously, since the classes are 7.5 weeks it’s a nice easy A to get the hang of it. I had like an admissions advisor person who walked me through everything signing up for pathway, and then transitioning to regular ASU. Good luck!

I did pathways to admissions and am now a senior. You just have to prove you can pass classes. They transfer over so take ones that will make sense for your degree program. Best of luck to you!
