My Starbucks doesn’t have a DT because it’s a grocery store kiosk but someone asked me (dead serious) if I was interested in stirring their coffee with my toes at the handoff plane, he had also commented how I was pretty a few minutes before. After I said no he walked out to “get his card” and didn’t come back

Guy was waiting on frappes and I opened the window to offer him straws and saw him hitting a bong.

Had a car chase go down the street next to us which was very noisy, plus we heard it cause a few minor accidents too,

Guy was staking out our store once, (we think) we saw him in the bushes, looking in the store, sometimes walking around the DT lane, and looking in the (after we closed) locked doors. Kinda scary but luckily nothing happened. Debated calling the cops but we ended up writing down a description of him after we left.

We had a guy pull a gun on another guy during a fight by the speaker box. Thankfully no one was harmed but jfc.

Had a guy come through and while he was at the window waiting for his drinks, he just. Rolls a joint and starts smoking it like no big deal. (Its still illegal where I'm at)

He was honestly one of my most pleasant dt customers and tipped well

someone got rear ended at the window while i was handing him his card back😭

Someone handed me a few of his business cards because he was running for county sheriff... Sir most of us dont even live in this town.

Can I just give one that still makes me giggle years later… after our DTR finished a transaction and the car left, he asks everyone over the headsets “should I have told that woman that her eyelash was falling off?” It still makes me giggle, even writing it out.

my store is right by a major hospital so i was on window once and asked this woman how she was doing and she said “good besides the fact that im in labor right now” i was GOBSMACKED. i was “omg congrats” but in my head i was like plz go to the hospital before your baby starts crowning in the starbucks drive thru ma’am !

This former regular used to complain when he got to the speaker box about the person behind him “riding his ass” and told me to tell the person behind him to fuck off when they got to the window. He also left waaayyyy too much space between him and the car in front of him to create a proper stack during peak. He once got out of his car to scream at a girl behind him. Don’t miss that guy lol

At my old store the passenger had a crockpot and I said oh whatcha got? And they said chili and I said can I have some? And they said yes and I gave them a short cup and they scooped me some chili

Someone drove into the store, people just standing in the drive thru lane, one time on Christmas Eve someone asked if everyone was stupid there or just me, I told her just me.

a woman told me at the window that she hates supporting starbucks because she’s pro-life (this was like a week before the roe v wade overturn and starbucks had been open about supporting pro-choice) but our tea is really good. like ma’am. what’s that gotta do with me? take your drink and go😭

I had a woman come through the drive thru butt naked it was a horrible moment for all of us, also had a fist fight break out in the drive thru because we sold the lady in front of them the last cake pop for the day :) we also got robbed through the drive thru once but the robbers paid us more than they could take out the register?

my starbucks’s is by a bunch of big hospitals downtown and i have gotten more then a few responses to my how are you doing today questions that go something like “not the best, visiting my child in the hospital”. like what do i do after that????

I’ve had 2 people on 2 different days come through the drive thru smoking a joint at the window. For reference i live in a state where its medical but not recreational

Man pulls up to drive thru and is on the phone with his gf on speaker. Man says a bunch of profanities and then says “f you, f your mom, f your tia, don’t fuckin call me no more.” hangs up the phone and says “can i get 2 venti vanilla beans?”

Ok so my guilty pleasure is to keep my headset on as we close because sometimes people pull up after we’re closed and I enjoy hearing full conversations as they sit there for 5 minutes before figuring out we’re closed, or hearing them yell “Hello! Are you open! Answer me! I’ll see you at the window!” I don’t know if that makes me the worst person ever, but I truly enjoy just hearing them bitch and being able to ignore them.

I’ve had on multiple occasions people doing dabs/bong rips in my drive thru. I’ve had people throw joints in the tip jar. On the opening day of my last store a lady drove into the “thank you” sign while leaving the drive thru and sped off. And my personal favorite I was had an old lady on foot picking up dropped change in our DT lane. Upon my other SSV on duty telling her she couldn’t be walking around the DT lane, she started asking us if we sold maps or if we could draw a map for her to get to some place in another town.

I had a customer ask me for Goat Milk once, I just sort of gave her a confused look and she asked for Coconut instead.

This is a funny one. So, I and a fellow Barista (before I became a SSV) were doing cleaning tasks behind the bar. This guy walks in, mumbling to himself, and rushes over towards our food fridge (a little off to the side, opposite the bar). I glance up at him to check all was okay, he then turns to me. "Bruv, where is the Big Macs?" He sounded either very drunk or high, at the time I wasn't too sure. Now for context we have a McDs across the street.

I explain that we don't sell those and that it was across the street, he started laughing and was like "Nah bruv, I is in Maccies." I had to explain he was in Starbucks, he just stared at me, then the fridge, and walked away out of the store. Most random thing that has happened to me so far.

So, for my drive thru, we have cones so the cars can only go in one way and don't block the front of our store. It was maybe two or three in the afternoon and the girl is behind a car ordering. This girl get out of her car, and throws one of our cones into her car. We were all, "Ummm... That's ours!".

When she got to the box we got on the headset and said, "Hey, could you put our cone back?"
Her response, "Can I pay for it?"
Us "No, put it back."

The craziest part about this, I think, is that she continues to order.

Other than that, someone asked for a Caramel Crunch upside down. I could not get through that explanation without a few snickers 😅

Somone came through with a couple in the back, violently getting it on.

A person who was incredibly out of it, handed me a card with a LOT of white powder crushed in to the side of it.

Had this regular ask if we had any "of that tortilla soup?" And was yelling angry that we didn't nor had we ever had soup.

Woman asked for light bacon, and we gave it to her ( not incredible but it really stuck with me)

This guy came through rolling a joint, when I opened the window the inner air curtain blew the contents all over the cabin of his truck, and he looked at me like I kicked his dog.

Couple was making out at the speaker box so we turned on our camera so they could see 4 partners waiting for them to order. They left with out ordering.

Had a family come through, while ordering the kids got out of the car and started playing in the drive thru, I didn't notice as I was putting in food, but I turned around and there was a kid standing at the window. I told the family I would not continue to take their order until all of the seven kids were back in the car. Family left without ordering.

There's more that's just all I have for resent things

Had a “customer” walk up and try to climb into the window because his ice water was taking too long. He in fact had not ordered and was under the influence of an unknown substance.

One time my 17 year old barista was taking an order when we saw the girl in the passenger seat go down and we’re pretty sure she started giving the guy head 🤢 luckily we didn’t see it actually happening we just knew by the way she went down and his face 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was so upset, it was a literal minor taking the order, I took over after that and I still regret not calling them out, I was just embarrassed and wasn’t sure if maybe they were the type to get off from people seeing them 😬

Weve had this one guy and his girlfriend come through our drive thru bare naked and m*strubating while my store manager was on the window. They SCREAMED when she turned around and saw them. I think they just drove off???

My DTO windows face a very busy street and intersection. One of my baristas watched two car crashes, one of which was fatal.

Fun fact: I could never call 911 from the store phone. It would never go through and I'd have to call from my own cell phone.

One of our regulars showed me a picture of something when I asked how her day was, all I could comprehend was a bunch of blood and I was like woah uhh what is that?? And she said one of her inmates decided to cut open their stomach and let their blood and guys spill everywhere bc they said they were gonna transfer him.

A fellow partner got a phone call on the store phone from someone who had just been in the drive thru. He called to ask her out

Had a lady place a mobile for an espresso frap, came through the drive-thru to pick it up, then proceeded to be angry with me that she had to wait in line to get her melted drink. We had to remake it for her as she was on the phone with cutstomer service complaining.

I've also had someone drop their change on the floor outside of their car ON PURPOSE after they refused to lean out their car window to have a good grip on what was being handed to them. The lady then requested I come out and pick her coinsup off the floor to give to her since it was "my fault I caused her to drop her money"...

Had a lady take the items, take a few bites and sips, then asked if I wanted it back because she didn't realize "she had to pay, normally they give it to her for free since she is a loyal customer"

ma'am, what?

I just looked and told her to have a nice day, she knew what she was doing...

Some left business cards to vote for someone in our bathrooms. They lined the business cards on top of the toilet tanks. I didn't know about it until I went to check the bathrooms.

My personal fav was seeing a girl hit a crack pipe at the window

At the speaker box a dude was talking to his (ex)gf?? Asking why he cheated and what is problem was only for him to ignore her and ask for a caramel frappe

One time this car went in to the drive thru the wrong way, they pulled up to the window and started telling me their order like it was normal. I started to take their order, but I told them they would have to go in reverse because there we're already cars lined up at the box. My hiring manager who was training someone on DTO at the time starts screaming at me, telling me that there is going to be an accident and to get them out of the way. So I tell them that we'll finish taking their order at the box, when the hiring manager yells at me again that I need to take their order. At this point I just step aside and let her deal with this. The people in the car started getting really rude about everything, they end up telling my hiring manager to "shut the fuck up and take their order". We ended up taking their order and getting them to go back around while holding the people at the box.
