Charging for alt milks? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by throwaway1209340987
We all know that you don’t charge for alt milks in a brewed coffee unless they want over 4 oz. Does this change with iced coffees and cold brews? The BRM says not to charge for a splash in “water-based beverages,” but if you change the alt milk on a cold brew w/ milk, for example, it charges. But if you punch it in as a regular cold brew, add splash of alt milk, it doesn’t charge. So when do we use cold brew w/milk? Mobile ordering doesn’t make that distinction clear.

I’m so confused.

Cold brew w/ milk is cold brew to second black line milk to the third and then ice, cold brew with a splash is cold brew to third line a splash of milk add ice! Hope this helps! And you always charge for milk if it’s over 4oz

What the heck I though that cream/milk for iced coffees and cold brews was always just coffee to 2nd line, milk to third line!

You are correct!

This does not appear to be the case as per the recipe cards. It looks like milk shouldn’t be added to the regular cold brew at all, if it gets any milk or alt milk, it’s the cold brew w/ milk button. And when you choose which milk, it does up charge for an alt milk.

It seems super inconsistent because on the app you can just order a regular cold brew and add a splash of whatever without being charged. It only charges of you purchase it as a cold brew w/ milk.

I don’t get it!

I was under the impression You shouldn’t use a made with milk button on a regular cold brew as it’s not made with milk but you can most definitely add a splash of milk to a regular cold brew, but I’ll check out the cards after my break!

Edit: clarifying
