Drive through better? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Nova0905
my first job is working at Starbucks, I work at a Mall Corporate Starbucks, today was my first time trying drive through, it isn’t bad at all, it doesn’t get crowded like it does at my store in the Mall. It’s slower and much more chill. What do you guys think? Should I transfer?

yes u should definitely transfer. corporate starbucks has way more benefits. not sure what benefits you already get, but when i was applying i looked into corporate stores and then ones in malls and such and i found a huge difference in benefits

The one in the mall is a corporate store too, so I get the same benefits. I just finished my shift and saw that it’s much easier in drive through than the Mall.

i just started working at starbucks maybe like 2 months ago, but honestly my favorites been drive so far, even when it’s busy i don’t mind doing drive. i actually prefer drive over everything else lol

It gets very busy at the mall and noticed that it doesn’t get very busy at the Store with DT

there’s no reason to work extra. so if you’ve noticed that the mall gets busy and then the other one doesn’t, you might as well go to the new one. only thing you’re probably giving up would be like 50 cents extra in tips from the mall, which also depends

I managed a mall store for years. I definitely prefer Cafe over drive thru. Drive thru stores get very busy also unless you'reworking at a very low volume store. You're managing multiple channels all the time. Most mall stores have mobile and Cafe, most drive thru stores have dt, mobile, Cafe, and delivery. It can get chaotic quick unless properly staffed.

I do prefer cafe and mobile only though

You're able to make it feel more like an actual coffee shop and not a race to see who can make drinks the fastest.

I noticed that at mall on weekdays we have around 3-5 baristas working, DT stores have around 5-8 working

I had 2-3 weekdays, 7-10 weekends. 15 was my max. Black Friday. We couldn't fit any more partners behind the line.
