Then asked me to pass them their coffee right then and there a the till. I asked for them to stand at the hand off, and they said no, pass it to me now.

I made the customer wait as a I brewed a new pot and said there were other drinks ahead of them and we make them in order since everyone has to wait.

if it’s peak and the shots are bad for a latte/steamed drink, etc. i serve them anyway cause i don’t have time to repull 4 shots when there’s 10 cars in drive

If we run out of things on the floor after 6, I’m not making more. We’re just out. No frap roast? Not making more until close. No berries? Not going in the back. No regular beans in the espresso machine? Blonde or decaf depending on how nice you are. We close at 8 and we aren’t about to be there til 10 doing clean up.

we just ended up scooping a bit off the top of the latte, and scooped the whip out as well. she was not getting a remake

A lady once yelled at once of my baristas because she ordered no foam, and there was a tiiiiny amount of foam on top. She literally stuck her finger into the latte and said "there's too much foam on this!!!". I made her wait while I remade it, and then made her watch as I very, very slowly scraped all of the foam off. Added more steamed milk. Scraped the foam off. Added more milk. She eventually told me it was fine, but I said "oh, no, wouldn't want you to have foam on your no foam latte". I eventually gave it to her. Haven't seen her since.

You're rude but want extra EXTRA cold foam and caramel drizzle? Ok, 3/4 of your cup is now cold foam and half a bottle's worth of caramel. Have fun drinking your $12 cup of cold foam.

I once had a pitcher of cafeiza water and it looked very similar to a freshly steamed pitcher of milk. I made a customer a late. Espresso first and then grabbed a pitcher without looking and topped it off.

About 30 minutes went by, and I was looking for my cafeiza pitcher….and it was milk….then I realized I handed out a cafeiza latte.

The person never called to complain. Not sure if they actually survived…

Every time someone asks for VSCF on a blended drink I second guess the customer “no you sure? That’s not going to sit right; whipped cream would be better; etc” bc cold foam on blended drinks is a pet peeve of mine. Also batch blending. Bc “not the right ratios” excuse is antithetical to how blenders work.

I can make 4–5 venti fraps or 6 grande fraps in one blender 🙃

Drank for free all day, I'd constantly just make myself lattes in short cups from leftover almond milk. Did THE MOST batching. I wouldn't wash the steamer mug for 2%/whole/nonfat milk for up to 30 minutes but kept it separate from nondairy. Nothing beats the fun of gossiping over the DT mics though

Slows me down to count the change back. Would rather they pay by debit or credit. Especially on DTO where you are being graded on window times.

Also because the change is typically smaller bills its easier to make a mistake and give the customer too much change back.

Fun fact: the $20 bill is the most counterfeited bill.

Only 1-2% of the people Ive said this to didnt have another form of payment and when that happens I call a manager over to ensure I have enough change in the drawer.

during rushes i shake pink/dragon/paradise drinks in the cup and add the ice afterwards. not sorry dont care if shaking with ice chills the drink/activates the flavor. im busy.

- Turned off ingredients for annoying drinks (or ~~all~~ food) during rushes
- Let everyone use my till all evening so I could knock down the other registers early
- Straight up clean play fraud (aka checking unfinished things off if we weren’t feeling too pressed that night)
- Pretended I knew how to do the weekly order. Just ordered what felt right and it was usually fine!
- Over-pulled my baristas’ and my favourite pastries if I was closing the next night too
- Just gaslit customers who I knew had a messed up drink but I didn’t want to remake it
- Rude drip coffee customers got extra water
- Created barely necessary work orders just to spite my SM

If someone asks me which is better between two drinks or two food items, I choose whichever one takes less time. Dbl smoked bacon or bacon gouda? Bacon gouda all the way. Any frappuccino vs some iced latte? You know what I’ll say😌

When I first started I had a manager that would rush me over the headset. Like just constantly in my ear about how we had to keep the line moving and to speed up. On days where I was solo DT and getting super overwhelmed, I’d just start handing orders out for free and voiding them to save time 😅

If making CRC or mocha cookie frap, I size down so I'm not dumping any extra frap to make room for whip... Also if the frap comes out a little low I stick the whip nozzle in it while I whip so it comes to the rim.

I gave my parent a “free” dark roast with cream under my numbers. They have never visited me at work even once since I left my 15 year career in emergency services disappointing them once again… maybe I should have made them pay. I always put caramel syrups in caramel macchiatos because it’s a CARAMEL macchiato. I just find it very dumb that it doesn’t automatically come with it.

when i did work there i never marked out food. regularly brought home like 4 drinks per shift i took a 50th anniversary studded cup without paying for it. i have about 15 aprons 4 hats, taken trays of breakfast sammie’s, all of my friends ate and drank for free. if i’ve met you once and like you i’m giving you free shit idgaf. when i put my two weeks i would tell people the blender was down and as a shift i counted the drawers and shut them down like 4 hours before close. i was a mess
