Asu as a home schooled high schooler (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by mekayla96
So I just applied for asu for spring 2023 but in the application process they asked for my transcript and stuff. I was home schooled so I don’t really have one. I have one from a few years I attended a local college off and on. Would that be sufficient if they ask for one?

They may make you get a GED potentially if you don’t have any official documentation.

Hm okay, even with like 50 credits from another college you think?

at 20 or 25 transfer credits they don’t require a hs transcript. just wait until they receive ur college transcripts and they’ll remove the task from myasu

You should be able to address this with your advisor if you have been assigned one. I honestly had a hard time getting my transcripts to them even though i did online school and had them available. asu really pressed me to have an official transcript from my school sent straight to them. did you happen to be homeschooled through a certain program or school, or was it classes that would not be tracked on a transcript? If you have something like sat or act scores that could help too!

Yeah I don’t have any of that 😅 the state I’m in doesn’t require hardly anything to say you graduated high school as a homeschooler.

hmm i see the issue. definitely bring it up to your academic advisor is your have one. hopefully they have something in place for special circumstances like this. i’m so sorry i couldn’t be of much help!

I was homeschooled up until 11th grade so I'm not exactly sure what to do in this case (because I did graduate with an "official transcript") however I just wanted to pop in to say don't be discouraged if the process is difficult! I know people on college admissions boards and they say that generally homeschooled applicants are sought after because they have a unique education background. If you have good scores to back up your education you should be good! Best of luck

Oh shit I was also hommeschooled but my mom made me a transcript. I hope it works.
