Hey y'all. Asking for a friend who got a final written.
This is their first job so they didn't know about write ups. They called out a couple times bc of 2 deaths in the family and they're going thru a lot right now.
Anyways my question is. Is our manager allowed to give out a Final without the verbal and documentation???? They are new and young but was never spoken to about it up until now. Does it have to do with their probation period bc they're new?? Perhaps?

I don’t believe they can, I would contact your DM or even PPC about this.
it’s unfortunate that they called out due to family deaths, but I would assume that any manager would be understanding.

Yeah I have a connect with the DM anyway coming up and I was planning to ask. I just wanted to see if I could get an immediate answer thru Reddit with someone whose gone thru this b4, thanks tho!!

we had a talk with our DM today and he said they cannot fire anybody without proper documentation. The DM‘s and their bosses (whoever they r lol) both have to approve it and they won’t let it go through without the proper documentation

Even if your manager only told them that they need to find their own coverage for this call out or the next time, then that counts as a verbal warning.
