Hey there so I’m a Supervisor at my store currently and recently cut down my availability a bit so I can have a healthier work life balance but also opened up the amount of hours I can work so I would be able to retain my role.
After doing this all subsequent schedules have left me as coverage and I’m just concerned as to why? My manager has mentioned nothing to me regarding demoting me and I’m unsure if it’s because she’s currently training someone else but i’m slightly worried and was wondering what you all think it may be?

If your manager approved the availability change and never talked to you about demoting then you should be good, it’s to my understanding they can’t demote you, you have to choose to demote. Although they can deny an availability change unless you demote. I’d still talk to them and make sure though.

You are not being demoted without a conversation stating so. Be thankful you are getting hours. Some SMs refuse to schedule SSVs unless they are key holder for that time frame. At my store she occasionally does it and we SSVs celebrate when we are just baristas that day.

Yeah our store has staffing issues especially since school started because a lot of people moved away so it makes sense it’s just odd.

Totally. And it can be frustrating because you don’t want to step on the key holders toes etc. On those days we do a lot of “would you like me to do… would it be ok if…”.

Mhm! She has been having me do a lot more earlier of shifts too despite having the same hours I used to work available. Maybe she's prepping me to do mornings once the two SSVs we have promote to ASMs but no clue
