Curious if any other stores have seen this scam, or if it’s just my area. Basically someone will say they ordered 4 of the same thing (it’s always 4 and always the same things with the same problem) and say they ALL were wrong. We had one man say all 4 white mochas had no coffee taste, another said all 4 double smokes had frozen egg? There’s no way the egg could’ve been frozen. My store is also very policy driven, my SM takes the job seriously. Hence these issues are definitely eyebrow raisers. We can’t find these orders in our system and telling them we can’t refund them has been fun. Anyways, does this happen anywhere else with starbucks or is it my location?

This has happened to me too! I got a phone call from a woman saying that she got 4 venti caramel Frappuccinos with double shots and none of them tasted like coffee. She said she paid cash and didn’t have a receipt and then asked if her husband could come by to pick up the money once I told her that we can only do refunds in person. I told her I’d look for her order and she could call back. I never found the order AND she never called back.

Not really the same but was kinda weird.
Had this lady order from us thru uber eats. She had put an order thru for 3 drinks. One was a venti iced caramel macchiato, a venti hot white mocha and then another drink (which i forget the 3rd one) lol. We pack it up and the driver shows up some time after to pick it up.
Then as time goes on, this customer calls our store and said she ordered 4 drinks. We tell her no she didnt. She said she ordered a ventu iced white mocha as her 4th drink. My shift looked it up on the system and it showed THREE drinks. She said on her end it was showing she got 4 drinks. My shift told her to call uber eats because we got an order for 3 drinks and we made those 3 drinks. There was no 4th drink. Nor did it even show that on her end. Then lo and behold, she places another uber eats order for the venti iced white mocha. Lol

we have a guy blacklisted in every Starbucks SG store his face and tattoo's are all over the system basically he would claim that his "delivery drink spill" bringing in a delivery bag that clearly isnt his with dates that doesnt reflect his app orders that were clearly labelled "cancelled"
yep this happens alot in sbux locations in singapore usually we will need proof of identity, purchase and a photo of the guy to process a refund or claim. if it turns out he is scamming us the photo of their IC gets sent to the police and they will handle it for us.
although one instance a guy became aggressive and threw a rock at my colleague it just grazed her but the guy that threw the stone was sent to the A&E for a skull fracture, lets just say you shouldn't test your luck around student barista's

Omg I literally had someone come in other day saying they bought 4 impossibles and egg was frozen still. Unfortunately there was no way I could look up receipts from day before so couldn’t prove them wrong because I worked all day previous day and know we didn’t have him nor sell that many because we didn’t have any ☠️. But of course I had to make moment right and do refund.

If you go into custom reports, and go to order lookup you can search orders. It's kinda annoying, but you can search by dollar range and time of day.

The disadvantages of letting our EZ Bake Ovens heat up a frozen Jimmy Dean are twofold. Firstly, one can't stick their finger in the center of the sandwich to feel that it's nuked enough to eat and secondly, they pay $6 for a Starbucks version of a Jimmy Dean, when they could have bought a box at the store for the same price.
Expensive, with a icy cold stamp of disappointment right in the center. It's like dating me.

Used to have a guy who did that once a week. Like, dude, how do you not realize that we ALL know you and have your license plate memorized!? I always did the “what time did you order” thing. If I can’t find it, how can I refund it? And if they want a remake I’m still gonna say that I “need to find the order so I can hit the (imaginary 😂) remake button.” It’s funny how they can never seem to remember what day or time it was and then they proceed to say “oh, actually, it was the other store down the road, but the manager said to tell you to remake it here.” Like, how did you “forget” that you didn’t order it here?! Nah, you’re not getting anything free from me.

We had someone try and do this with paninis more than once. After the third time I noticed that they had been in before and done that so I made all the supervisors and my store manager aware, hadnt seen them since and none of partners have either.

We see a lot of these types of scam at my store. The last one I had to deal with was Fourth of July weekend. Dude try to tell me that he had “7 DSB and 7 coffees” that tasted terrible and “what was o going to do about it”. After asking some questions and luckily the shift that was working the day and time frame was in store who verified they didn’t have that order during her shift, I let him know that in order to get a refund he would have to speak to my manager who was in later that day. He got huffy saying he was going out of town could he get a refund from another store on his way out. I told him know but I’ll take his name and phone number and have my SM call him to resolve the matter. He gave me a name and a phone number which didn’t match the one on caller ID. My manger never called him and he never called back.

I definitely heard about this so called prank on Reddit here but it didn’t happen to me. Being in nyc, we don’t have these people and even if we do we will just say call corporate. Whatever it is they can find it in their system. Even if it’s cash. They just need time and date etc.
Used to have this lady that said her friend mobile ordered it here and I ask for the receipt etc. she said it’s not on her phone since it’s her friends order so I asked her to ask her friend to send it. She then said she’s not picking up. Was pulled to the side and my coworker said she been doing that a few times and every time they honor it. Luckily I spoke her language and she never came back—at least I haven’t seen her.

I had a dad and two daughters come in. Dad ordered coffee, younger daughter ordered a grande pink drink, and no third drink. Then they walk up and say the pink drink was supposed to be a venti. 1000% she said grande. Cafe bar made a venti and let them keep both. So frustrating because they actually think we’re stupid.

People do this all the time at my store. I’ve made drinks before and then the person on drive goes to hand them off and they’re like oh I really wanted a venti, and the sticker SAYS grande. They PAID for a grande. One time this happened to me on drive and the barista that was making the drink was like no she definitely said grande frap she literally took the grande filled the caramel crunch frap with more whip and caramel on the bottoms pour the grande on top of the whip and and fill with more whip. Here is your venti 💀
Another time I was cashing someone out and after I asked them out and hand the drink off the person was like but I asked for a venti! And I said ok I can call my Supervisor over and have her void the transaction and ring it in a venti and have them remake it. They took the grande and drove off.

We had a lady just the other day come to our drive and say somebody made her drink wrong at a different location a whole week ago. She didn’t have a receipt and obviously didn’t have the drink with her anymore but my coworker made it right and made her drink for free. Maybe I’m just jaded but I strongly disagreed with his decision.

yup. all the time 🙃 these are the most annoying people to deal with because their stories will be full of holes but they’ll continue to try and lie their way to free money or drinks. I will say i find it hilarious that a certain telephone scammer recognises my voice and immediately hangs up now when he calls. always gives me a good laugh.
