Should I be patient or move on? (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I applied at a Starbucks like 3 minutes from my house. I did a phone interview with a manager, it went really well and he said once I do my background check I can come in for my first sip. I called a few days later and a different manager told me I was marked inactive in the system and to check my email so I can reapply. Well I never got the email, called and left my number for the manager and never got a call back. I reapplied from the website and still haven’t heard anything. This is all within about 2 weeks.

Does anyone know what could be going on? Like do they just not want to hire me anymore or is this normal?

I’d call and ask when the store manager is going to be in then call during that time and ask to talk to them. Kinda weird they planned your first sip then went AWOL

I know right?! I will try that thank you. I do have an underage on my record but it was 10 years ago so I didn’t think that would be a problem.

Hi friend, coming from a store that was completely toxic and being at a new store out of state that fought tooth and nail to have me transfered as a 368 without even meeting me first...

You don't want to work at a Starbucks that does you like that. It shows that they have poor communication skills, don't follow through with promises or their good word, could even be cliquey, or literally just not have their shit together and if you work for them, you would be dragged down as well.

Without a good, solid, supportive team it is an absolute shit show. And for what purpose?

I would try for another Starbucks, or a different establishment entirely. Depending on your region if you can work at Chipotle or In&Out you would be very comfortable financially and be able to have scholarships or full coverage towards your undergrad.

There are two different managers in this situations so chances are the first manager who “hired”you got fired and the second manager took this opportunity to fill the spot with someone they chose. Its all sketch. If you never did a First Sip there is no way you would be in the system. You need documents that need to be imputed in the system that the manager has to physically see.
