i'm pretty sure that this is company standard and while most SMs haven't been upholding it, there seems to have been a push from higher ups to start doing so.

(i'm not positive, but my source is overhearing my SM discuss this standard with a shift at my store last week because they had to tell 2 baristas to take LOAs. i had never heard of this before then)
