Where to shop for clothes for work...(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Low-End4987
I basically wear the same outfits to work every day, and some look more raggedy. Where do you guys shop for work clothes? I'm trying to find some trendy stuff (but obviously still within the dress code) comfortable and not too tight where it'll show my sweat stains lol. I'll sweat A LOT!) Thanks!

I go to primark or charity shops. I'm not wasting loads of money on stuff I'll never wear outside work
Low-End4987 [OP]6 points10m ago
Sweet. I completely forgot about Primark I'll definitely give them a try!

thrift stores have got some GREAT flannels usually that can usually look cute with the right jeans
canidieyet_13 points10m ago
SO TRUE. i found a flannel for $3 that looks so good with black jeans. it’s so comfy, i almost want to find a different one for work so i can wear it at home more 😭

thrift store flannels>>> ESPECIALLY during this time of year
Queasy_Judge240521 points10m ago
thrift stores 100%. textile waste is a huge contributor to climate change so there’s no need to buy brand new clothes when you can get perfectly fine ones for a discounted price
CalDoesMaths1 points10m ago
Definitely recommend thrift stores for like anything other than tees personally, even then if your super strapped for cash it ain’t bad.

This is gonna sound crazy, but hollister has a good online clearance section for mens and womens clothes that are plain t shirts or low key patterns/flannels and if you have a student email you can use the unidays 10% code for every order.

Shoot okay ima look that up!

Walmart

Goodwill bestie. I just thrift some cool/old polos and call it a day lol. I basically wear the same outfit too everyday and sometimes I feel like I should be putting in more effort but honestly I could care less. I work at a food service job not a 9-5. I get sweaty, stinky, and dirty on a regular basis and I’d rather be comfortable than anything else

Walmart

Old navy is my go to. I ended up buying 4 dresses for $6 each after sales and coupon codes. They have daily sale so I never spend more than $15 on jeans and $8 on shirts.
Best_Strain31332 points10m ago
Maurices has some good sales if you watch too.
sydbey_6 points10m ago
Target has some cheap short and long sleeve shirts that are usually like $5. Some of my fav shirts to be honest
dontgiveah00t6 points10m ago
Old navy, I like that their plain black womens tees are extra long
tantelope6 points10m ago
i go to goodwill. very easy to find plain color tees with great fit, you just kind of have to dig. some of it won’t be trendy but some of it is GEMS in the rough
garrick10115 points10m ago
So we can wear flannel shirts?
Low-End4987 [OP]2 points10m ago
Everyone at my stores does!

Costco. Bought 3 pairs of women's shorts this summer and they are my new work uniform.

Thrift store ! ASOS! Really anywhere, styling is the fun part !! I always get up a lil early to put an outfit together that I love. If you don’t wanna spend a ton thrifting has some great stuff
adolfop_4203 points10m ago
Target is underrated they are my to go for work AND to go out just depends on what u looking for but they tend to have really comfy clothes and the have really good sales most of the times… and if u buy something and the next day or week goes on sale return it and get the sales price I’ve done it countless times no issue whatsoever

If you’re willing to splurge a little, uniqlo has some solid shirts and pants
Low-End4987 [OP]6 points10m ago
I’ve been heard of this site before! I just checked it out and they have really cute stuff thank you :)
VenusInFirs3 points10m ago
Old navy and target.
LilacFlores2 points10m ago
For basic plain colored shirts, I prefer Targets men section over Walmarts. They last better over time and feel better.
thechamelioncircuit2 points10m ago
Target is my go to tbh
Aggressive-Ear-67222 points10m ago
i wear plain $5 black shirts from walmart and target every day
PoppyPancakes2 points10m ago
I wear a lot of the shirts from CoffeeGear. They’re usually around $10 a piece for the basic ones. I’ve also been a partner for close to 5 years now so I’ve been able to rack them up (plus free ones) over time. I get a lot of my basic tees and dresses from Target. I love shopping their clearance online so I can get cheap out of season stuff
Mea-fae_Owl732 points10m ago
Walmart, Target, and thrift stores
kingfreaks2 points10m ago
Target good fellow brand tbh. I’m pretty simple though and wear black ts and khakis every shift.
JulesIsAghostx2 points10m ago
Walmart, old navy, and I’ll occasionally find some nice stuff at goodwill (or any local thrift) :)

my store is super lax on dress code and we all wear t-shirts (my SM warns us if the DM is coming in so we all know to wear our "approved" work outfits lmao), and I just stock up on grey and brown t-shirts from forever 21 every couple months. I don't like wearing black t-shirts because they show lint too easily and I have cats, bunnies, and a dog at home and don't feel like lint rolling before every shift, but most of my co-workers wear black t-shirts every day

like everyone else said, thrifting is my #1 choice ethically and cost-wise but also walmart has great options for durable and cheap clothes, and some of it is pretty cute! i’ve also gotten just packs of plain t shirts from there that are great for the bux
LaurabelleBabe1 points10m ago
Now that we can wear any color, Walmart usually has a table of t shirts for $3-4 dollars. I bought like 5 t shirts and 3 long sleeve shirts and then 2 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of shorts. Spent under $40 and now I’m set for the rest of my career :)
th3_thing1 points10m ago
As a dude, I wear black jeans and Walmart or T.J. Maxx shirts every day. Walmart has good dress shirts and button ups and T.J.Maxx has great button ups. The black jeans are perfect for not showing the stain from when you spilled the entire pitcher of sweet cream on your leg three hours earlier
Majestic_Pollution_51 points10m ago
Old navy has good shirts, I buy my pants from kohl’s
trippin-in-the-dark1 points10m ago
my favorite plain tshirts are the comfort colors plain tshirts! they’re so comfy and i just love the colors they come in, usually I get them from a craft store like hobby lobby or joann’s but i’m thinking about getting a bunch of colors off of Jiffy Shirts or something like that
ConsistentCow58481 points10m ago
My go too stores are Walmart and Goodwill. Especially since the dress code update. My store allowed us to wear leggings but starting the 19th we are no longer allowed. But I found some nice jeggings at Walmart for a pretty good price! And some cute shirts at goodwill. Good luck!
CalDoesMaths1 points10m ago
Thrifting for stuff that isn’t just like tees and then other than that like Walmart or old navy
