Starbucks tiktoks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ThatBratD
Today I got talked to at lengths for posting certain tiktoks on and off the floor during and after store hours. One was me punching a milk jug in fast motion while midwestern punk music plays. Another for sticking my hand in expired product after the store had closed and the other was me “spreading rumors” about one of our regulars saying to a past barista that he wanted to tie her up and put her in his basement. Apparently i was inciting violence. Tampering with product and spreading false rumors about customers. What’s y’all’s thoughts?

Surprised you didn’t get fired tbh. You’re not there to make tiktoks and should probably stop. If you were my coworker and doing that I’d probably be annoyed and hate working with you.

Harsh asf dude we are baristas. Every single person I work with says I work to much and to hard for the company. All my tiktoks do is make customers want to buy more because we as partner make them happy to be there. Also what’s your star sign ?

You asked for thoughts, I’m just being honest 🤷‍♀️ also, I’m not a dude. Glad we don’t work together!

Dude is a gender neutral term. I am literally trans so stop with the dramatics. Wait until the company has drained you of every ounce of energy and happiness and then you can’t comment

I’m trans too dipshit dude isn’t gender neutral. I’ve worked way worse jobs than starbies so that’s not gonna happen. Quit if you hate it so much.

I don’t particularly have thoughts on it other than it being harmless and funny, but when I was hired we were told if we posted any sort of videos from behind the counter we could face termination. So I just take videos and save them and share them with coworkers lol

if you make tiktoks at work you are a part of the problem end of story

my sm told me he doesn’t care if we make a tiktok lol but most sm’s would probably actually care that you’re not working and why you’re not working

Friendo that is definitely a fireable offense... Also while you can have your phone on the floor, you shouldn't be on it while you're clocked in. You're there to do your job, not promote your ill-mannered tiktoks.

ok personally, i feel like it would be harmless. however, i know that the rules are if you post any social media content in the apron or behind the counter you can actually be immediately fired. it’s not an issue for me and if i was an sm id be fine with it, as long as my baristas aren’t drained of life every shift, but standard says it’s a big no no

i work in a district where something similar happened recently with another barista. the issue wasnt necessarily about the posting of tiktoks and more the content and sounds they used with them. for example, some of her tiktoks would use sounds that repeatedly said c\*nt, or she was seen mouthing the n-word, all in a starbucks apron, at a starbucks, during work hours. plus, she was getting millions of views, and would slander starbucks, or post things things that shouldnt be shared (like when we were going to launch the cold brew with lemonade drink, she posted a tiktok of her hating it and you can see why thats a bad look for the brand) so idk if that might have something to do with your reprimanding but yeah, i think you have to look at it as a big picture thing with the tiktok stuff. if it's too viral it's gonna be ur downfall for sure
