Hopefully my 2 weeks expire before I get fired, because I'm being hunted.
Basically, a few months ago I made the decision to head off to college, and I used to work at a store back by where I lived. We were high volume and would regularly set record drive times of 23-26 second window times during peaks. When I decided to head off to college, I spoke to my absolutely amazing store manager there and requested a transfer to a specific store closer to where I will be living for college, since a 4-hour commute to work does not sound fun. She put in the transfer once we contacted the store manager of the place I was transferring to, and we thought it would be all grand by the time I got here.
Fast forward 2 months (the transfer filing time), and I hear nothing from the new store manager regarding the transfer, so I try to get into contact again, to no avail. So I tried again. And again. and again - for about 15 attempts over the span of 3 weeks. I got no response (these were all phone calls to the store). I finally contacted my old SM and was told to "tell them flat out that if you cant get a shift there that you'd have to find employment elsewhere, try emailing them & call them one more time, since they've surpassed their deadline by such a great amount, if you don't hear back from them in 2 days then look elsewhere or I can file transfer paperwork elsewhere." So I sent an email, and said I'd call one last time in the morning, when I could personally guarantee that their SM would be on shift.
So I called, and was greeted by a temp SM who was there for the week since the actual SM just left for vacation, and they handled my transfer with ease and no problems. Well, that just got finalized 3 days ago. I got a phone call today from the actual SM (I worked one shift as a "borrowed" thanks to the temp SM scheduling me), and was informed that I "Might not be a good fit for our store", and that "I would have to review the partner code for tone problems and disrespect, as reported by our baristas" (Mind you, I didn't disrespect anyone or have bad tone, nor have I ever had this problem in the past, as I've usually been regarded as the 'preferred employee' by various stores who have borrowed me for shifts, due to how well I can function within their crew and how friendly I am towards them). That call was the snapping point for me, and as of right now I have typed out my two weeks and will be resigning tomorrow. I have filed a formal complaint with Starbucks regarding the management of the store, and will be gone regardless of the result by the first of October. I was also guaranteed that if I do it this way I would still have a summer job at my old starbucks down south, since they enjoyed me there.
Now, obviously a single bad call cant be the only reason I'm quitting, right? No, it's not:
My new store has:
\- Ghosted me on my transfer for several weeks
\- Expressed hostility from the SM several times, despite only speaking with them 2 times
\- Placed me with 2 coworkers who disrespect anyone and everyone
\- Placed me with a coworker (not from the above 2) who has a SEVERE superiority complex
\- No customer connections or any behind bar connections with coworkers (Seriously, one guy on the afternoon shift actually connects with customers, and unless you're a supervisor or SM you're not allowed to talk to any coworkers aside from communicating an order).
\- No in-store communication on orders (I know, the only thing we're allowed to speak about and no one actually communicates anything regarding them?)
It's a shit show, and was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a Starbucks - both as an employee and a customer.
