figure out what you want before you get to the speaker box!(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Comfortable-Dig2710
i can’t count how many times people get to the box and ask their 6 passengers “so what do you want?” and hold up the line forever!
i’m happy to answer questions if you have any but if you have no idea what you’re ordering come inside and look at the menu or look online but either way for the love of anything figure it out before you get to the box
thanks for coming to my ted talk

I like just sitting and watching the timer on my screen if I have no one else to help. It’s fun trying to see how bad I can mess our speaker times up with one customer, even though my store doesn’t care about them.

Love when it’s a long line and they’ve been waiting forever but don’t have their payment ready at the window too smh

HOW?! HOW do they KNOW they want Starbies if they never know what they want to eat/drink? I would drive around aimlessly until I saw a sign and KNEW what I wanted... or, fuck, let's be honest. I have the craving before I leave home and know EXACTLY what I want when I head out somewhere.

Same if I’m getting Starbucks or anything for that matter, I already know I want it and that’s why I’m going lol

Omg what about the people that add to their order once they get to the window. Ugh.

And now I always have my card/money ready in hand before I get to the window at any fast food place. I don’t care too much about drive times at my store, but we can usually get people through pretty quickly. I have people start to pull up Apple Pay, stop to spend another 30 seconds finishing their text conversation, then ask ‘oh and can I get two PSL’s too?’ and then be surprised and frustrated when we want to have them pull forward. Not like we can do anything about it, but in the moment it’s frustrating because I know my SM is going to roll by any minute looking at drive times.

would you give people a chance? i always like to consider if it’s a customer’s first time at a starbucks, and it’s okay if they don’t exactly know what they want or have never had specific drinks before or want to change up their regular drink with something they may not have noticed on the menu before. trust me there’s a lot more happening than customers being there simply to annoy you. i work under the siren too so i understand the stressors revolves around working there but damn y’all act like you’ve never needed a second in a drive thru anywhere before

Ehhh I wanna agree with you but lowkey that’s probably a “come into the Cafe” situation. That is it your store has one. I know not all people share that same level of intelligence, but if I go through a drive through, 85 percent of the time, I know what I want already. Idk maybe it’s just cuz I’m considerate and also work in fast food so I know what it’s like on the other side. Who the fuck knows, I could just be talking out of my ass after doing bar for a whole 7 straight hours bc of 3 call outs with no lunch. Anyways have a nice day

This! Thank you for giving this perspective.

I am in a kiosk but have the same problem. They come up to order then pull out their phone and call the office to see if anyone wants anything. Meanwhile line up reaches the door. Know what you are ordering before walking up to a till. Especially if there is only 1 till.
Brgnbo8 points9m ago
I like to annoy people that do this lol especially if they don’t answer me or acknowledge me I’ll be like “alright let me know when you’re ready” “any questions” “were you ready to order?” Until they finally notice me

It's funny, as a closer I actually appreciate these customers, as I usually end up doubling/tripling up on window and warming so it gives me time to catch up on those other 2 when one of the other ones needs a minute.
Dildomonsta3 points9m ago
The worst is when they pull up to the speaker and within a second before I can say anything they scream “hello??” And I greet them and ask what they want to order and they say “ hold on give me a sec” LIKE HUH why would u pull up and act all impatient then proceed not to know what u want smh bro

I always say “Let me know if you have any questions or would like any recommendations!” And yet they still sit there for like two minutes before deciding on a strawberry açaí😭
mrcupcake181 points9m ago
And this is why I hate going into drive thrus anywhere unless I know completely what I want 😂
