Quick help (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m back working at the starbux and it’s….okay. But it’s been 3 years since I worked there but always will be a barista (Peets spoiled me)

A LOT has changed and I’m barely getting retrained on bar and drinks. A lot is following the standard I’m used to but god I need a refresher and since my location is downtown it’s always busy. I can not reply on my memory from outdated recipes. And since I can’t take the recipes card home I wanted to reach out for quick tips and what not.

The job is easy but some customers are rude and stupid.

And for fun tell what your go to drink to make yourself. I enjoy practicing and improving my time/drink sequencing when it does get slow.

I recently discovered that if you look at the sbux app and pretend to order a drink, it will tell you exactly what goes into each drink (the purpose being so the customer can modify it, but it defaults to the standard recipe). The only exception I've found so far is that it doesn't include the coffee/creme syrup for fraps (but it's just the same pumps as frap roast for whatever size you're making). There may be other exceptions others can point to but yeah overall it's accurate. Could be a good way to review drink recipes

ETA a few of my fav drinks: grande iced chai with two shots of blonde, iced white mocha with sccf instead of whip, and an iced latte with brown sugar cf (two pumps of brown sugar, a few shakes of cinnamon dolce topping).

Thanks I’ll have to redownload the app then!

Nice drinks too I’ll have to try and recommend to my hyper starbucks fan friend

Also, if you'd rather just memorize a basic formula:

Shots: 1/1/2/2/3 for sh, tl, gr, vt, vt iced
Pumps: 2/3/4/5/6/7 (7 is for trenta).
Frappuccino pumps: 2/3/4
Cold brew pumps: 1/2/3/4

The exceptions:
Americanos, shaken espressos, and flat whites get one *extra* shot, excluding venti flat whites.

Flat whites get ristretto shots and whole milk

caramel macchiatos get one *less* pump of vanilla.

matcha lattes get one *less* scoop of matcha

I can't think of any other exceptions so if anyone wants to add anything, feel free

Yes thank you! I struggled with frappes for awhile but I got it now. Cold bar is great until I get back to back orders of CCRMF OR MCF and I can’t batch them and there’s one blender.

If you're able to, maybe call out to other partners to get them to call the recipes back to you? If they're good, they should be able to give you the basic info in seconds so you can make the drinks correctly. And you'll probably pick up the changes quickly enough.
