Is there a Rule that states that a Barista and a Shift can be friends or be in a relationship, there was a case like this at my store and it seems off to me because what ever people do outside the clock shouldn’t be no one’s business..

Barista + SSV relationship yes there is a rule against it (not 100% sure on friends though, seems difficult to enforce). It’s to prevent favoritism or in case of a messy breakup, hostility. Most workplaces discourage romantic relationships between lower level employees and supervisors/managers.

there is a rule that they’re not supposed to. as long as it doesn’t negatively interfere with work, most don’t care about the friendships and hanging outside of work. relationships usually just cause one of the two to be transferred

me and my partner had to both be promoted to ssvs for us to continue dating bc baristas and shifts dating can cause favoritism, mistreatment off breaks/power, and other issues with staff
