I've only worked here a month and they already have me training someone by myself on closing shifts. Like it's just me and a brand new barista.

I unfortunately got roped into training not one, but TWO, green beans, at the same time because we don't have enough trainers so my dumb sm gave a trainee to a closing ssv who can never train her because he's either doing ssv shit, or picking up the slack from the mid ssv. I've only been here 3 months and I'm still learning 😭 how am I supposed to train them

pls at my store we have two new guys that keep asking each other questions about standards instead of the trained baristas around them 😭😭 im new as well but w previous coffee shop experience tht made my training super fast

I only help if I'm certain on what I'm saying even then I tell them to check with a shift and our other worker who's been at the store longer. Otherwise I avoid helping.

Training is a team effort so we can avoid situations like this. You are not a high and mighty trainer who knows everything. You are in charge of the task simply for the sake of organization. Everyone should do their best to help where they can and if they get it wrong, that’s okay because that’s how you learn. I mean

“Oh no! I must teach my own knowledge to those on our team who don’t have it! So annoying! I can’t believe they gave each other bad info based off of what little knowledge they have!”

Bonus: I wonder why they didn’t know Carmel drizzle when Tom the fraps? 🧐 did their trainer not teach them?
