Is there a loophole to wearing name tags?(self.starbucksbaristas)

Okay, so I know we have to wear name tags. However, I’ve had people be really creepy about it and don’t want anyone to have my name. What are some ways where I can still follow dress code without people have my actual name?

I mean if you tell your supervisor/manager people are creepy to you they will probably understand and let you wear a fake name. And if not just do it anyway lol

Thank you! I’ve just been not wearing one, and nobody has said anything to me yet. I reserve my right to privacy. Not even the regulars at my store know my name. I quit giving my name out when a minor looked me up on Facebook and wouldn’t stop flirting with me. (I’m 22)

Yeah as far as I know the rule is that you need to be wearing a name tag. Not that you need to be wearing a name tag *with your legal name on it*

That was what I did. Everyone coming through knew me as Ruby.

I’ve had many partners who come up with a work nickname and then use that for their name tag. It doesn’t have to be your legal name, just a way for people to identify/address you.
I’ll give you examples of nicknames similar to ones I’ve seen used by actual partners just so you can see your range of options: Z, X, Fish, Bean, Bug, Bee, Mercury, Frankenstein… (I’ve seen some very interesting nicknames used!).

Just put on the name tag and leave it blank. If a DM came in, they’d glance around and see that you had a name tag on, so you’re in dress code. If they happened to notice it was blank (unlikely), just say “oops it wiped off” and fix it while they’re there.

As everyone else said, just pick a consistent name and use it. It doesn't have to be your given name.

I wear a different name in my name tag like daily. I have a bio dad who is shady AF and my team knows. One day my name tag just said “not mark”

Also if a customer is making you feel uncomfortable you should definitely bring it up to an SSV or higher and they *should* handle that for you.

Had a buddy put "Chai" as his name. Customers loved it especially at drive and he didn't get in any trouble. Just use something fun like that

Ooo I like this! Ty! It could be pronounced as “chai” or “shy”
