Filed an incident report yesterday. Will anything happen? (self.starbucksbaristas)

A customer who comes in every day used to make targeted comments towards me that were extremely disrespectful(I’m trans). An SSV had a talk with him a while back. He called me slurs during their chat but agreed to not make any more comments. Every time he comes in I tense up, worried that he’s going to say something again.

Well yesterday it happened. I’ve never filed a report before. What, if anything, will happen? I told the SM and she said she’s going to talk with him, but I don’t think that will be enough. I consider what the customer is doing to be persistent harassment. I want it to stop. I never say anything to this person but he chooses to target me.

I can handle rudeness. I can handle occasionally getting misgendered by customers. What this customer has been doing goes beyond those things. My coworkers are all great and supportive but I’m not sure if anything can or will be done about this situation. If anyone here has experience with this kind of thing I’d like to know how it went and if things got resolved. Thanks.

So first off so sorry you have to deal with this. Some people are terrible. Second filing incident reports is definitely the correct thing to do. Also your SM getting involved is good. If a customer gets too many incident reports filed against them that is the main way for them to be banned. As for what too many is depends on a few things mainly your DM, what the reports are for, and if your SM communicates to the DM the want to ban the customer. Every interaction with him from here on out that at all violates third place I’d file an incident report. People like this are not welcome in our stores and they have two options; change the behavior or don’t come in
