So I’ve been sick for about a week and had to call out the past two days. i always look for coverage but no one will pick up my shift. what is protocol for this? do i have to go in if i can’t find coverage? can they fire me for this? i’m so stressed

I'm pretty sure you have to miss a certain percentage of your scheduled hours over a period of time, possibly even a whole quarter before they can really do much to you. I wish I could remember more specific info for you, but if you don't make it a habit and since you at least tried to get things covered your boss should be pretty understanding. You have sick hours for a reason. Also when you are sick it isn’t your responsibility to find coverage. It’s nice of you to try but not your job.
