In my experience (5 stores over 3.5 years) managers will pretty much tell you anything but the truth.
I’ve noticed that since peak/morning is usually the only time I ever see them on the floor - they almost always schedule partners that they like the most and are efficient workers to work with them.
I’ve also learned never to say anything honest to them about the store bc if they don’t like it they’ll just cut your hours LMAO
I’d recommend calling around and finding out which stores near you are in need of a morning barista. even then unfortunately there’s no guarantee you’ll be scheduled for the mornings. Just gotta get lucky with an SM that’s actually a real human being.
Oh, you can also just change your availability to no later than like 1 pm but that has the risk of you getting scheduled for like maybe one shift a week.
Also just to put this out there - I like the store I’m currently at other than the fact that hours suck because Starbucks over-hires intentionally.
I just popped into the store a few times to see if the baristas seemed to like the store before I applied for a transfer.

i’m dealing with sort of the same issue…i ask my manager to schedule me with more PM/closing shifts because i’m tired of only getting AM/peak shifts. When I bring it up to her she says she can definitely help me, then lo and behold, when the schedule comes out, it’s either all AM or no shifts💀🤷🏿♂️
I pray your manager isn’t as stubborn or annoying as mine.
