My current manager pretty much sucks. He's super absent, he doesn't really understand the business (outside hire), and he does that shit where he says "we're all family". Red fucking flags.

I've even heard him say to another tenured partner that they could be replaced in a day. Mind you this coworker has over 10 years at the company and he thinks someone else can come in and be as good as a 10+ year partner? It's ridiculously stupid and disconnected.

I get that corporate doesn't give a shit, they don't have to work in the stores, but as a store manager you're going to trash talk one of your best, most experienced partners? He has no idea what that partner does for the business when they're actually on the floor. It's wild.

i told my sm i was struggling with my mental health and she straight up stopped everything to give me resources and told me she cares about me and wants me to take some time and work on my mental health. i give her a 10/10 because she is trying to hard and she’s become a huge influence in my life. my old sm tho? same situation as you. there are good sms out there but it can be difficult to find

Depends on the day… some days mine is super understanding and will give you time off for appointments and such. But the next day they will tell you that your burn out is none of their concern.

I would give my SM 9/10 I think she is great! Are there some things that annoy/frustrate me, absolutely but from the stories I read on this subreddit I’d say I’m very lucky to have the SM I have.

I had a great relationship with my SM, but then she got fired bc the DM that no one likes fired her.
