I don’t get how some people can get promoted to ssv, there’s this person at my store who just got promoted to shift supervisor but that person is the stupidities ( to be kind), most incompetent person in the store to actually lead a shift. The only time that person is on the floor helping is when there’s whipped creams to make or caramel bottles, the other reason he is on the floor is when he is counting money but that’s about it. He is just slow in general, I caught him today making a regular flat white with non fat and only 2 shots. When I coached them about it( yes, I coach shift leads) that person thought that was the way to make one and he is been doing it like that for a really long time. doesn’t assign any down time task which need to get done because he is a closer. Me and other barista trainer who also closes most night are the ones who take charge and get the floor organized and ready for the next day. But in the end I got to thank them for showing me that anyone could get promoted, so now I’m on my way to become a shift lead :)
