TURNING OFF MOBILE ORDERS. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by brookecarrillo
When is a considerable time to maybe turn off mobile orders? Literally like 45 mins backed up and customers are angry waiting for their drinks. And the mobiles and cafes just keep coming. Like seriously there’s gotta be a time where we just turn them off for a bit. We did at my old store and my new store doesn’t do it. Not only have they cut labor and we aren’t properly staffed, we’re the busiest store in our district. I honestly just go at my pace and sequence about 4-5 drinks. I’ve always said “it’s not my job to make sure you get to work on time, it’s my job to get these drinks out in a timely manner” 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree with you. If they can't put in the effort to make sure you guys have the labor needed to cover the work load demanded, it isn't your duty to make up the difference. Plus working faster than your comfort level just encourages mistakes and sloppy work practices, so ultimately just making everything even worse.

Maybe its time to go up the chain and skip the DM, its not reasonable to have mobiles booming and be under staffed. I forget which app in our ipads it is, but it will let you know how many customers come in during a half hour or or hour. Use these statistics and let them know there has been a decrease in customer satisfaction due to drinks not being out quick enough from lack of proper staffing.
