getting covid twice (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by icecreamsadwitch
Hi! I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to handle this situation. I had covid in mid July and was out for the recommended 10 days. I know I can still produce positive results on a PCR test for 90 days. But I was exposed on Saturday, got symptoms on Monday, and the positive PCR yesterday. The SM proxy (since my current SM is on vaction) said that starbucks doesn't count it as a true positive, even though it's obviously a reinfection and I'll be required to work my shifts. What do I do? I have partners who have elderly family members and partners who are pregnant at my store, I don't want to expose them.

If you have symptoms you fail the covid check in questions anyways so idk why they're saying that?

If they actually try to make you come in, I'd mask up, go fill out the Covid check, and be like 'yo I didn't pass, I gotta go home.' if they try to make you stay, call ethics and compliance.

this ^^ that covid coach is there to tell you strictly that with those symptoms you CAN NOT work. your proxy is out of line to try and bypass that

I know you only get covid pay once every quarter, but I don't know of anything that tells us covid is invalid (the way you describe it)

You were exposed
You developed symptoms
You tested positive

Sure maybe it's not covid and the positive *is* from prior covid..
But why risk it?

Have you tested positive on a rapid?
That won't ever show positive for old covid, it is for viral shedding load

(Per an NP I know)
