Did I mess up? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rain2221
My SM asked me to work a morning shift from 6:15-12, and I usually exclusively work nights, nothing ever before noon. I’m just curious if I messed up and am going to regret this.

Probably haha but you get off with plenty of time to do something with your day that's why I like morning. Waking up in the hardest part I've come to learn. Once I get up and going and get some coffee I'm good to go. Peaks also suck depending how busy your store is.

I've always heard it is busy in the morning, especially since we have a high school near but ill probably get a nitro bomb to wake up

It really depends on your particular location.

At my store, both our opening and closing shifts have their own peaks. Open is anywhere from 2-3 hours, with numbers from high 30s to mid 70s. Average is about 50s/60s. Close is usually about 2 hours, numbers in high teens to mid 20s. While open will have between 5-7 partners on play, close will have 2-4. So it kind of balances out. But I've heard stories of other stores where the two shifts are complete opposites.

Bottom line...it could feel very familiar, or it could be a major culture shock. I guess you'll find out?
