SM here and I see comments about not wearing non-slip shoes. Do you and your boss a favor and wear them. A recent example was this nice girl that was picking up quickly. She nailed her first few days closing with me but on the fourth day she came back after she left to get some water. I always wait till my crew is gone to mop for the very reason of people not wearing non-slip shoes. This new girl promptly wiped out before I could stop her. She was ok but I felt bad. On the incident report, one of the questions are “was the employee wearing slip resistant shoes?”, and I had to check no. I don’t want you to get hurt and definitely don’t want you to get screwed. Wear non-slip shoes please.

Why are most people at sbux so against having a dedicated nonslip, sturdy pair of shoes for work 💀 no one is looking at your feet they don’t have to be cute. Seems a lot easier than putting rubber socks over your shoes…

Does your manager actually care about your shoe color? Plenty of my coworkers violate that aspect of the dress code every day. The only time my managers have cared is when people don't wear nonslip shoes, because that's a safety hazard.

I work in medical and have used those for non-slip and they tear through the bottom in a couple months. I would buy non slip shoes bc you will have to reply those covers quickly

Crocs on the clock, the nonslip crocs with no holes, are my holy grail work shoe. They’re more durable than my bean boots and docs, and a lot more comfortable. The crocs are definitely ugly, though, and some SMs might not like them because of the old dress code from before 2020 that said no crocs. They’re nonslip, machine washable and dryable, they’re super shock absorbent, and stay pretty clean.

Get the non slip crocs, the only shoes that are comfortable and have lasted years

I wear no slip covers with my ultra boost for the past year. No one has said anything to me about it. Honestly saved my feet standing around.

I bought a cheaper pair of slip on docs for work since they’re non-slip and can take a beating without looking like trash. Invest in one good pair of leather, waterproof non slip boots and you’ll be set.

People wear vans at my store I think you’ll be good. The Walmart near me has some cute knock off dr martens that are nonslip if you like those kind of shoes (:

There's plenty of times slippery things spill and even with appropriate shoes I still find myself sliding every day.

They won’t as long as they’re in the right color and waterproof, but I would be aware that they wear a lot faster than a pair of non-slip shoes would. Better than nothing though! I would go for it and make the investment once you feel more comfortable buying the shoes you need for yourself. Just to be safe though it wouldn’t hurt to message your SM just so that they’re aware of why it’s not as easy for you to just get a new pair of shoes for work!
