What are your favorite or recommended non slip shoes?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by djdementia
Just curious what other people have found to be good slip resistant shoes for baristas, and about what did you pay for them?

i use these from crocs $1 and they’re amazing, i have flat feet and these help so much. definitely recommend. if they’re sold out in your size, they always have some in stock in-store.

I have them too, can concur. One downside, material does not breath and my feet and socks are soaked when I get home and take them off. Upside you can toss them in the wash.
I live in a state where we can get some *extremely* cold weather, so will be looking for a workboot I can wear wool socks. My wool socks don't fit in my crocs.

I have these too, I recommend

Not sure the brand but Walmart has a large selection of non slips, mine were about $35 I think and have lasted well over a year now.
TRoseee3 points9m ago
Tredsafe! I used this brand for years as a bartender. Now i use crocs for Starbs.
ratplanet_10 points9m ago
I wear “made for the makers” vans
ImportantWeekend1 points9m ago
How have those held up? I’ve been wearing the converse equivalent and I have mixed opinions, thinking about picking up the vans.
ratplanet_2 points9m ago
I’ve had mine for about two years and they’re still great, I swapped the soles for my special inserts and they’ve lasted me forever, I’ve worn them literally every day since I bought them. Worst thing is the bleach stain bc I’m an idiot and stuck my foot into a sink drain. I’ll attach a link w a photo for reference
ratplanet_1 points9m ago
$1 $1 $1 The wear on the heel area is only bad because of the shape of my feet, they’re still comfortable & breathable regardless

I have skechers because of the 30% off we get. Mine were around $60 after the discount. Many of my coworkers recommend docs, but those are on the more expensive side if you don't own a pair.
icedoatmilkchai0 points9m ago
what 30% off???
ardentAmbivalence3 points9m ago
We get discounts through $1. You just sign up with your email and it'll ask for your employee number to verify that you actually work at Starbucks.

Shoes for Crews. They have a huge range of styles on their website. I usually ruin shoes so fast, but my boots from SfC have held up incredibly well.
bigghostb00ty3 points9m ago
Why are you getting downvoted? I also love Shoes For Crews. I also just recently got some non slip sneakers from Lugz, they’re cute and comfy.
psionicillusionist7 points9m ago
Tredsafe. Anything they do is a good nonslip, but you do have to hunt a bit for a shoe that'll fit the way you want.
Vegan_Sweetie5 points9m ago
For comfort, try Air-Doc Martens made with food-service non-slip soles.
Bonus points if you put those insoles in them which skaters use. The ones that have a contract with NASA for making impact-absorbing material.
Twentysixounces5 points9m ago
You can spray clear flex seal on any shoes and make them anti slip. Source: Me, I did it to my Air Monarchs and changed the game.
rnaggie535 points9m ago
Ugh monarchs are what I need at this point. My feet are absolutely dead everyday after work
Dr Martens. I love my boots and wear them all the time
5AV1OR4 points9m ago
Nonslip closed crocs are like 50-70$ and are great last a long time and are really non slip. Also easy to clean if you spill something on them.
5AV1OR1 points9m ago
Also saw in a comment you said you prefer shoes with wide options; this is a reason I like the crocs idk if they have wide options but they are just naturally wide so they fit super comfortably
It_is_Katy1 points9m ago
Two people at my store picked these up a couple months ago and they both love them, I was thinking about picking up a pair myself.
shesallglowedup3 points9m ago
Bistro crocs, they’re not cute but they’re amazing
noeyoureatowel3 points9m ago
Dr Marten’s, specifically the non-slip work boots. They were I think $130 but they’ve lasted me for years and I can wear them in real life, too, so it’s worth the money to me.
Alicat-and-Quasar3 points9m ago
Rubber birkenstocks
dallizzlee3 points9m ago
I love my docs so much. The non slip work boots are also extra cushy and so comfy

I’m curious if anyone has “slip resistant” floors in their stores?
Our store is getting a remodel from 10/4 to 10/15 and we are having these slip resistant floors installed. Im not certain how functional they are but wonder if they truly will allow us to wear any shoe safely?
Blondefudge4 points9m ago
they still get very slippery. i’ve almost fell down hundreds of times wearing regular shoes.
orangethrees3331 points9m ago
Ope, good to know!
snartblartmcgee3 points9m ago
when I worked in a deli where the floors were always wet or covered in oil, these were my go to because they're so slip resistant and good for any type of food service environment. they have a LOT of support too like I'm very picky about my work shoes and these are the best I've found https://a.co/d/0U4PLVe

Currently I'm wearing Genuine Grip Pull on Work Boots: https://www.genuinegrip.com/mens/7141-work-comfort-men
I got them at Boot World for $90 USD: https://bootworld.com/products/genuine-grip-chelsea-slip-resistant-work-boot
They come in Wide size too which was important for me. I've worn them for about 6 months at work now and they are holding up great. The grip is still good on them. I had Dr. Martins before (not the high end anti-slip, just the regular) and within 2 months the grip wasn't sticking very well. So if you go with Dr. Martins I'd recommend trying the ones with the diamond cuts in the grip.
