Oh how I miss the soccer moms. Easy to talk to and boosted up my self confidence.

I wish I had the soccer moms you have... all the soccer moms in my area are rude and mean :(

Tell me where to apply and I'll turn them right around. 🤣

My old store pumped some of that like once a week and the one day we’d forget to make it someone must’ve known and asked for a skinny mocha 🙃 Tbh the sight of it used to piss me off on bar because it took up much-needed space that would’ve been more efficient for other more useful things lol
TheGreekGazelle [OP]46 points9m ago
im glad they got rid of all the “skinny” terminology and corrected themselves. i get irked when ppl refer to drinks as skinny.
coffee-and-chillll24 points9m ago
Yes!! I really hated it too, drinks being titled “skinny” feels repulsive to me and just ridiculous. Totally not inclusive. It really bothered me, and customers continue to use the “skinny” term ughhh
TheGreekGazelle [OP]21 points9m ago
facts. skinny and fat arent terms that should be used to market stuff (fat isnt cuz its offensive, but skinny is..?) like yes girl have ur diet have ur ways but nah we got ppl in this world who have been plagued w bein obliterated for bein underweight just the same as those overweight 😭
coffee-and-chillll6 points9m ago
Exactly. Also it’s just like can we be accepting of all body sizes/types? Like damn, our bodies do soooo much for us and keep us alive yet society loves to make us feel bad about them: makes us think something is wrong if we’re underweight or overweight in the pursuit of “perfection”. The way I see it is Starbucks should be one of those things where people can stop by, enjoy who they are, and get whatever yummy drink or food they want. I also hate when customers are like “I’m trying to be *good* so I won’t get a cookie”…ma’am any of us can die at anytime, get what you want and enjoy it.
Shouldn’t coming here be fun and enjoyable? Please stop insinuating that eating a cookie is a crime, like it’s okay! Enjoy it. I’m a grown adult and I’ll eat what I want because life is short and I’m not about to add dieting/food choices to my list of stresses and complicate eating

Sometimes we get people that try to order a “skinny mocha” and when I explain we don’t have sugar free mocha, they get all haughty and say “mocha with non fat and no whipped cream.” That is not the same thing. Say that instead.
Also do not get me started how many of them do not know skim and non-fat are the same thing and try to correct you.
dnims2417 points9m ago
I still get people every once in a while that try to order a skinny vanilla latte and I kindly offhandedly correct them with ok latte with nonfat and sugar free vanilla. So far no one has said anything about it but it’s what I do personally to try to deter people from using that term
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points9m ago
i did this today and some old dude was like um yeah thats a skinny latte, and i was like okay so nonfat and sugar free vanilla, we no longer have buttons or labels that say skinny, and he was like “OHHHHKAYYYY…” lmfao
freakkinthesheets10 points9m ago
I like when people order a sugar free frappacino
nonogender6 points9m ago
which is impossible bc both bases have sugar 😔 someone asked for a sugar free vanilla frappuccino "because my kid is allergic." i said it will still have sugar, is that ok? bc some people exaggerate with the word "allergy." she said yes 🤷🏼

Remember when the very first batch came out? Before they introduced that one? I wanna say somewhere around 2010-2011? It was absolutely putrid. I had to sample it to customers and not a single person liked it. Hardest thing to sample. And if you got the skinny mocha on your hand it would like stain your skin for a bit, even after washing.
TheGreekGazelle [OP]1 points9m ago
it makes me laugh that it exists when our mocha already is like dark choco, and pretty bitter on its own
QuinnMcL283 points9m ago
Ooofff be gone, you diet culture-y shit relic!

TheGreekGazelle [OP]2 points9m ago
