i hate when people don’t clean up after themselves. nothing pisses me off more than going to make a pink drink or a caramel ribbon crunch and walking over to an unrinsed shaker/blender pitcher.

RINSE YOUR STICKY SLIMY SHOT GLASSES BETWEEN SHOTS ITS NOT THAT HARD !!! literally so disgusting when I go to make a drink and the shot glass is covered in slimy stale stinky espresso aside from being gross. It’s also really unhygienic imagine not rinsing your steam pictures.

Can't stand it when people don't wring out their rags over a sink before throwing it back into the sani bucket. Please. Please understand we can make the sani and rags last longer if people stop tossing rags sopping wet with mocha or coffee or something. Second is when people just don't clean their bar as they go, and when i get on bar everything is messy and sticky and gross. Third is when people don't clean off the area at the end of the bar where we put our CLEAN DISHES FOR WHEN WE CLOSE. Cool you just put alllllll those clean dishes on top of syrup and milk and inclusions and who knows what else :)

When partners hop around all over the place to try and help. I get it, you’re trying to help, but if you help me on cold bar and then disregard the cold drinks I lineup next to you, as I assumed you would make them since you’re already over there, and jump back over to hot bar and take the hot drinks I was gonna make so now I have to switch to cold bar as you’ve decided to take over hot bar…I just don’t get it. It breaks any potential flow we could have on bar and now we’re both just running back and forth between hot and cold bar. It’s not efficient, and it makes me feel like I’m slow because the other barista takes the hot bar orders from me as if I’m not fast enough so now I have to go to cold bar and make the drinks they could’ve made while they were on cold bar. To me, it’s baristas “choosing” what they want to do on bar and it’s reaaaally frustrating. If I’m already on hot bar and in a flow why do I have to jump to cold bar because the other barista decided to leave cold bar and take over hot bar

Also, I cannot stand when the drive thru window partner comes over and stands right next to me as I’m on drive thru bar to watch me and wait for the drink to be finished for the customer at the window. Yes, I’m behind and ideally the drinks would be done by the time the customer reaches the window but that’s not reality. We don’t have anyone on support so while I’m on bar I’m also getting ice, milks, cups/lids, and syrups. Gotta love when both vanilla syrup bottles on hot bar are out in the middle of a rush!!

Window partner: please do not stand next to me and watch my every move as I finish the drink, you can simply stand a little further back and maybe organize mobile orders or simply try connecting with the customer at the window. The stress and pressure this adds when I’m running between hot and cold bar to crank out drive thru orders is enough, I don’t need a partner standing *right next to me*, making me feel slow and extra pressured.

Also I really don’t think it’s sanitary when the window partner jumps in to finish drinks without washing their hands first, but that’s just me

I guess this is just a problem when working at an LS but when another barista butts in when I'm helping a customer. Like the customer will ask me a question and before I can speak the other barista will answer or they'll make the interaction more confusing than it needs to be. I am more than capable of handling it.

not shaking the almond milk. the amount of times ive had to remake drinks bc someone didnt shake it and it tasted like straight water 😭💔

CLEAN ANYTHING MATCHA TOUCHES!!! Don't rinse it, clean it. Clean the sink when you pour out a whole Matcha drink because when you let it sit there it's not very nice to smell in the mornings.

i get irked when people stand in the way, like yes i know it’s a lot of tight spaces and fast moving but you can move ur feet two steps or ur body like fucking move😭

my big peeves are when i rotate on to bar, and the bar itself and the counter are super gross and haven’t been wiped down in hours, and when baristas leave blenders on the water sprayer for minutes at a time and don’t take them off

Not restocking everything (cups, ice, inclusions etc) when you have time. I really don't get it. Practically everyone at my store only restocks something when we are totally out of it. Maybe it's just me being overly anxious but I like to make things easier on my future self 🤷‍♀️

- put your milks away PLEASEEEE
- stop throwing away the LIDS to the milks that’s how we get gross fridges
- clean as you go!!!!! if you’re a messy barista whatever but clean your stations as you leave them

When I'm on bar with another barista and they get ice literally all over the counter that melts into an ocean. I don't want my stomach soaked every time I have to reach over to pass someone a drink. And then if I try to ask them to possibly fill the cup with ice over the trash (because our trash is in between the two ice bins) they get annoyed with me. 😭

grabbing stickers and not telling me when im on bar 🥹 please just tell me, i already have the sequencing set up in my head and it fucks the entire thing up when one drink goes missing!

mine when i worked there & now as a customer is seeing milks sit out. ik some ppl left them out for a couple drinks but i went to one store that had them all lined up i was like…. 😵‍💫 don’t like that

I hate when I’m on dto/dtr and while I’m taking orders, other partners want to start talking on the headset having a WHOLE CONVERSATION. Like why tf are you talking while I’m trying to take this customer’s order. Bothers me so much because I literally can’t hear the customer talking.

idk if this is common, but at my store we get a lot of really messy borrowed partners who turn bar into a tornado. i know damn well they're not that messy at their home stores, NOBODY would put up with it. it's actually insane. messy bar partners in general can peeve me off but i get it during rushes and stuff, but idk why the borrowed ones often just don't seem to care at all about our workplace and i suspect it's because it's not their home store.

but maybe, just maybe giving them the benefit of the doubt, they just aren't used to the setup of our store and truly struggle too much to cleanup. most stores in our district are pretty uniform but we're the only non-drive thru store so it's pretty foreign to borrowed partners. i'm terrified of the idea of DTO and have never done it lmao.

When people don’t clean up after themselves SPECIFICALLY after making back ups! I can deal with messy bar on peak but you’ll see me rage if someone leaves dirty pitchers, heavy creams, and a vanilla bottle out after making whips. YOU’RE NOT DONE WITH THE TASK UNTIL YOU’VE CLEANED UP AFTER.

my coworker was on front and needed steamed milk and instead of saying anything, came over and steamed it on the bar I was actively using

Mine is when cafe bar doesn't sleeve and stopper the mobile orders and also when people choose not to learn something so they don't have to do it. Why learn how to take apart/put together the pumps if you can always just grab me to do it! Not like I'm doing anything over here on Drive Bar!

I DESPISE when I’m on DTO/window and I take 1 second too long with the current transaction at the window and someone else comes and takes the order. Like they’ve been sitting at the speaker all of 5 SECONDS

this is the super detail orientated barista in me but. not cleaning the dried base/frap roast/whatever off the walls/shelves/lid caddy. I have spent way too long with a rag, cleaner, and a scraper trying to get dried syrup off of everything, and no one ever puts in an effort to clean it when it gets bad. It's sticky and gross and unsightly

when im taking an order on drive thru, have a good flow going, then a partner will burst in trying to make a joke but it interrupts my train of thought/can't hear what the customer is saying. i sigh and ask the the customer to repeat what they said and they sound annoyed while partners are giggling in the background😐

Leaving pitchers, shakers, or blenders sitting on top of the rinsers. Then when I go to rinse something, I have to stop and move your dish out of the way. Or I don’t see it and accidentally dump stuff all over it >:(

omfg, i cannot STAND someone talking on the headset to other baristas when someone’s at the microphone. i don’t even have to be on dto to get PISSED. like cmon, it’s not hard. we need to hear the order.

We have this awful human who refuses to move her ass away from the hot bar. She thinks she should be a lead and will constantly tell others to go get her things “grab me a caramel” “I need more beans” even when it’s dead because she lacks the social skills to run register.

So my pet peeve is hoarding the bar but I had to complain.

I hate it when I’m working at CB and someone who makes frapps get stuff all over and leaves it! Like I get you spill stuff, but clean it up so that the whole counter isn’t covered in frapp!

people at my store leave the sani rags anywhere BUT the sanitizer bucket/containers. it's so nasty to me but they just wipe the counter, rinse it in the sink and put it back on the counter?? also our cold bar setup is terrible and there's no real spot to put the fraps and shakers after rinsing so we put them upside down on a plastic thing with holes on the ice bin so the water gets ALL OVER THE COUNTER and puddles up everywhere it's so nasty

i’m no longer w the siren but when i was on drive bar and have a line wrapped around the building but front has nothing and they choose to restock instead of help me. or when they did help me they would pick and choose which stickers to pull (usually trying to avoid cold bar). like literally walk up to my printer, look at the sticker, and either pull it and stick it on a cup for me to make or just walk away. and then when they had like 5 stickers begging for help.

leaving things on the volcano (that's its actual name btw) and causing the sink to fill up with water. literally the worst thing ever and no one ever cared about it.

When they get coffee from one that’s actively brewing. Specially when there’s still coffee from the last batch and I’m just brewing a fresh one. LET IT BREW.

A have a shift who will walk over to bar when I’m slammed with drinks and pull tickets so that she can get to the coffee tickets, aka the ones she just made. There’s a “don’t make” button on the register… also when people pull tickets and then just walk away. So my rule is, if you pull the ticket, you make the drink. Full stop.

Pulling cold brew and the bag rips… OR when people don’t strain them all the way and I take out the trash to find so much left over cold brew in the bags. Plus it’s heavy af to throw into the dumpsters.

And another is when I’m on DTO and drive bar doesn’t put their lids on their cold drinks and expects me to lid every drink they finish. Even worse when others start to follow by that example and never lid their stuff to make their jobs easier. The amount of spills that could be avoided if you just take an extra couple of seconds to do so.

My biggest pet peeve is when they don’t measure the 14 L exactly for cold brew!!

When dto tries to pull my mobile tickets or don’t bother asking me for a mobile coming through drive . Just tell me what you need don’t touch my tickets

I can’t stand when my fellow partners combine milk jugs. Like they don’t even check the expiration dates and yes I know the milk will be gone within a few hours but something in me is screaming when they do that. Or my ssv standing and watching me or just holding up the cup and walking away or continuing to stand and stare. Idk maybe do something other than stand there and literally twiddle your thumbs

When they close down Frappuccinos and ovens wayyy too early. When whip creams and back ups are not done last shift and now I don’t have anything to work with.

I hate when people leave literal trash around. I’m an opener and for some reason the closing shifts always leave the paper from the deposit and tip bags on the desk. Like… without fail…. It’s such a small thing but it drives me crazy lol. How can you just leave trash??? Just throw it away bruh
